what shoes with navy linen crop trousers?

I've bought some lovely navy linen crops, and want to wear them now - but what shoes do I wear? Not keen on ballet pumps (have ham-hock thighs so need some height), would long boots undeneath work? Platform shoes? Help, am utterly clueless!

I wear my cropped navy trousers with grey courts, closed toe slightly pointed.

I wasn't joking about the clueless bit - I live my life in jeans and fleeces - strappy clogs even for this time of year? Am going with OH to conference so I have to look presentable...how about these?
