Found make up over TEN YEARS OLD! Shock

What makes it worse is the last time I tried some of that make up my eyes started to itch & sting and instead of throwing it away I put it back on the shelf.

Not one bit of it was even close to finished too.

On the plus side all my makeup is now stuff I use and not going to give me an infection.

Please tell me you are as slack or do you bin everything every 12m or whatever it says on the label?

i have a box of some of my old makeup from when i first started wearing it, i like to keep it and look at it every so often, i'd never wear it again, off the top of my head rimmel heather shimmer lippy, blue eye shadow and a fushia pink lippy. Some dewberry soap too.

I do tend to clear out my makeup bag often now, if i have too much i can never find anything.

heather shimmer lippy, that was my first colour too. Loved it back then. And dewberry, that seemed to be ubiquitous back in the day.

I have had a major clearout recently but I still have stuff that I can't quite throw out as it is hardly used and I remember how expensive it was. Hmm

Yes, I binned lots of chanel makeup. I was just ruthless with use by stamps!

i've got 5 year old MAC eye shadow which i love but only wear on an evening out - what do we think? to bin or not to bin?! it doesn't have use by stamps on it though Confused

good house keeping makeup expiration

I'd bin it if you use a finger to apply but keep it if you use brushes. Yesterday I would have binned it for being too old though!

It doesn't have a little picture of an open jar with 12M or 6M on it anywhere?

I have eyeshadow from 1987 [shame] that I use sometimes Blush Blush. It is [ehem] well past the recommended expiration date of 2 years.
