Come up a bit big. Love mine.

MarionCole · 17/03/2011 21:19

Bit big, go half a size down. I have five pairs, I am still wearing some that are 8 years old.

MikeHock · 17/03/2011 21:20

I'm normally a 4o, but take a 39 in Birkies.

BellaBearisWideAwake · 17/03/2011 21:21

I buy 38 but any other shoe am a 39/40

rubyslippers · 17/03/2011 21:22

i always buy a size smaller in Birkies

scotlass · 17/03/2011 21:23

definately down a size

are definately great for summer

MrsKwazii · 17/03/2011 21:24

Yep, down a size, they also come in two width fittings so best to check that you get the right ones. They are fabulous, could walk for miles in mine.

OhCobblers · 17/03/2011 21:38

so definitely down a whole size rather than half?
the tk maxx ones done give details of the width fitting so not sure what that means?! Confused

don't

MarionCole · 17/03/2011 21:41

I'm a 40 but wear a 39 in Birkies, which I think is 6.5 rather than 7 (which is why I said half a size)

MrsKwazii · 17/03/2011 21:41

Info here Oc - www.birkenstock.co.uk/index.php?m=catalogue&a=sizing

TIDDLYMUM · 17/03/2011 21:46

they have lovely ones in costco at the moment if you are a mmber, all patent jewel colours and v v cheap....

OhCobblers · 17/03/2011 21:47

thanks for the link.

i think i'll find some instore first and try them on so i know for sure - that way if i spot a bargain in the right size i won't need to worry about potential returns!!

thank you Smile

Same as marion.

Size 6.5/7 shoes, wear a 39 birkies.

PeterAndreForPM · 17/03/2011 21:51

ohhhhh roll on summer

I want my Birkies !!

cowboylover · 17/03/2011 21:53

Also try a TJ Hughes if you have one near you.
I got my silver ones from there for 20 quid.

I love mine and they do get better the more you wear them.

I do recommend trying them on instore before ordering them online as they have different 'bed' widths as well.

MarionCole · 17/03/2011 21:54

PAforPM - I had mine on on Monday, the sun was out.

PeterAndreForPM · 17/03/2011 21:55

I was tempted, MC

but I live in Manchester

say no more

MarionCole · 17/03/2011 22:04

I'm in Cheshire so not far away. Go for it, your toes will thank you.

TIDDLYMUM · 17/03/2011 22:10

I have silver ones from a couple of years ago. They were realLY cheap. when went in Sat I only glanced but they were about twenty quid plus vat, can't be 100% because I didn't check.

get in there quick because when it gets a bit nicer they will sell out . Hot
pink patent are lovely....

OhCobblers · 17/03/2011 22:14

TK MAxx online is where i'm currently looking - they've got a few pairs!!
ok so i'm a size 39 normally so should go for 38, ie, a UK 5, yes?
