Clogs - what are they like to wear?

I'm loving these LOTTA CLOGS and note that there is lots of admirers of them here on S&B

I haven't worn clogs since I was a kid - so what are they like to wear? Can you walk all day in them? I love the style/shape of them, but there is no point in buying shoes I can't be comfy all day.

I find them brilliant and wore them all the time when I had the summer in Crete but they did take a while to get used to so they need to be given a change to settle.

I bought some last year and they are bloody uncomfortable TBH. They are also very LOUD, especially on wooden floors...

Comfy if good quality but make your feet smell

I wear my clogs a lot and really love them. I found them really hard to get used to -- I had to wear them for half an hour at a time to get my feet used to the feeling. I do find them comfortable, but they are very, very tiring if you walk a long way or have to be on your feet all day. This is because they are very inflexible. I have closed toe clogs (like Lotta's classic clogs) and wear them with socks because it helps I find if there is some padding between you and the clog footbed. They are very noisy, which I do like in fact, but I've been known to take them off if I need to walk quietly. Also going downstairs in them takes some getting used to.

I guess I think that clogs are a commitment and not without their drawbacks. But I say that as someone who does love them -- I'm wearing mine now. And I don't find them as uncomfortable as high heels, which I really can't manage at all.

Another keen clog wearer - wood ones like the classic - for work so on my feet for upwards of 10 hours. Once the leather has shaped to your feet they're lovely, but I did put an insole in them, just needed a little bit of cushionning. Not too noisy though, they have a thin rubber sole.

thanks everyone - I'm very drawn to them ......... still undecided though. I'm a 'clumpy' shoe fan and these look so lovely.
