Ok, so the title says it all really.

I have a very frumpy all same length haircut which falls about 2" below my shoulders. I'm desperate for a change and would really love something a bit more up-to-date.

I'm mid-thirties and my hair colour is brown.

I have a two main problems though (there are many more but I'll keep it to the main ones Wink )

The main one, is that I'm overweight (am working on this) and am size 18.
I have a very round face.

I have been told to stay away from short cuts because they won't suit the shape of my face (friends have told me this btw, I haven't asked the hairdresser yet), so short cuts are seemingly out

The second one is that I have young children who are reliant on me getting them ready in the morning, so I have very little time in a morning to be styling it.

I would love to go for something short and trendy, but failing that, something at least a bit more current.

Any ideas what suits a mid-thirties, roundfaced, haggered mum?

Pleeeeeeease ...

I've had a look and tbh the ones I had in mind are the ones I've been told I don't suit.

So I need fresh ideas.

I'm fed up of looking dowdy and want something that is actually a style, instead of just hanging limply on my shoulders, iykwim.

Just go to a very good hair dressers. If you say where you live, I'll let you know who's the best.

They will then advise you and do a beautiful cut. No point asking on here because we don't know what you look like.

How can you tell me who the best hairdressers are oonaking - is there a secret directory?

I've booked an appt for tomorrow (already booked) so need to decide now how I want it.

Can you really just ask the hairdressers to advise and go from there? I've always thought that you need to know how you want it, and they'll just cut it Confused

Why don't you try an online virtual hair styler? Hang on I will find one for you....

nikki1978 · 17/03/2011 22:04

Obviously only works if you can get a pic of yourself on your pc.

Going by your name Greyskies, I'd say you live in Manchester. Am I correct?

Greyskiesabove · 17/03/2011 23:08

Cheers for that nikki - it confirmed what my friends said - I really don't suit it short Grin
