White Stuff - floral tents or feminine and flattering?

I can't decide!

Went there today as I had a 20% off voucher in the post. I was queuing up to try on a few empire-line longer-length floral numbers along with hoards of other women also trying to find clothes to hide their mum tum and I wondered if we were kidding ourselves.

On the one hand I like the floral patterns and a lot of their tops are a good length for hiding my flabby tummy. On the other they are a bit, well, tent-like!

I think I need a link. I've bought some tops from there before and they were neither floral nor tent like.

A lot of this kind of thing.

I think tunics only work on some body shapes. If you're long and lean then they can look great with skinny jeans. If you're curvy or dumpy then yes, you're kidding yourself if you think throwing a tunic on hides everything.

I like some of their stuff but never buy tunics- they do nothing for me: I'm a size 14 with short legs.

Fayrazzled · 17/03/2011 13:11

Meant to add- of the top looks like a tent then it is the wrong size.

VivaLeBeaver · 18/03/2011 15:47

That tunic's not nice.

FattyArbuckel · 18/03/2011 15:51

I hate tunics but there are hundreds in White Stuff

mippy · 18/03/2011 15:56

I hate tunics because they jut out from bust to waist, making me look like a large fat man. In white Stuff, it's usually either that shape or the bloody under bust seam.

They do one called Full Moon Tunic which is nice.

I've just bought this today in White Stuff. Not tent like and I like it anyway!

I always like the look of their stuff on the hanger but when I try it on I look like a CBeebies presenter. So now I give it all a wide berth.

I would definitely say feminine and flattering! I bought this shirt last week and its very flattering, goes in at the waist and hides my bingo wings :) www.whitestuff.com/HOWDY-SHIRT-P31211/ I am not a tunic fan and still buy regularly from White Stuff...

received the latest catalogue today and binned it- all ghastly.

I do possess about 4 items from WS- cords, a nice topn, and a couple of plain tunics.

Latest offerings are off the wall- checks, flowers, leaves, and that's just on one item!

twinmumplus1inthetum · 21/03/2011 21:24

I do have a couple of things from WS, but many of the ubiquitous tent tops make me look 5 months pregnant (when I no longer am)

FrancesFarmer · 21/03/2011 21:26

Sorry but they look like toddler clothes and patterns to me.
