Black dress and red shoes?

Seeing as my planned outfit for next week's joint-21st birthday dinner has gone out the window thanks to dresses not being delivered when they were supposed to be, I need a new outfit pronto out of thing I already own.

Plan B was black dress (chiffon, halterneck, with satin belt around the waist and satin trim at the hem) with patent red heels, hair up, red lipstick. But my sister says this will look trashy.

Is she right? If she is I need to miraculously find some sort of Plan C.

I think it could look good.
Do you have any classy red jewellery to wear too?

Gottakeepchanging · 16/03/2011 23:41

I wear that all the time.......

But I do look a bit like a high class hooker.

What's trashy?

if the dress is trashy, it is trashy.

If the dress is classy, red shoes will not make it trashy.

I like red shoes.

The dress is classy. I like red shoes too! I think I'm leaning towards the 'sister needs to pipe down' side of things.

No red jewellery but I have a pearl necklace that looks nice with the dress, but don't think it goes with the shoes. I could probably borrow some jewellery from somebody if need be.

Wear it with class and confidence. And you will look classy and confident
:)

Have a fantastic night and enjoy yourself

I have some fab red heels that I wear with a black dress. IMHO it looks great Grin

Keep the jewellery understated though - I wear either silver or just diamond earrings.

Too much flesh looks tarty. If the dress is near knee length it will look great, only a short dress and red heels would be a problem. also if you are worried can you chuck a little black cardie over the dress?
