I think it's nice and the reviews are very positive too.

I have this Hobbs
The third one on top row, neutral

Love it!

I secretly want Kate Middleton's Burberry coat that she had on when visiting Belfast but will just have to Envy

Pinkflipflop · 13/03/2011 13:23

PS - I love the one you linked to also!!

collision · 13/03/2011 13:24

The Hobbs one really is gorgeous. A little bit more expensive than I would usually pay but definitely worth the money.

Not too heavy - not too light, just perfect!!

Would highly recommend!!

more on BR

otchayaniye · 14/03/2011 08:25

I bought a Burberry trench (classic one but slightly above the knee, not raglan sleeve which can be hard to wear) a few years ago and although it was eye wateringly expensive at the time (750 quid plus alteration) I have worn it so much and will wear it for years so the cost per wear will be lower than, for example, my mother, who mocks me for my expensive tastes but who will probably spend more on outerwear in 5-10 years and still not be satisfied. I love wearing it, the tailoring across the shoulder gives you a great line. It's just 'proper', if you know what I mean. You can also buy on eBay for cheaper (need to be careful about fugazzis though)

Check out TheSartorialist and Art of the Trench for ideas on how to wear them a thousand ways and how not to look mumsy.

Just something to consider. Coats from high street cost 100 plus and won't give nearly the longevity.

SummerLightning · 14/03/2011 08:48

I have this and also like this

carryon · 14/03/2011 09:57

Summerlightning - Ambushing the thread but thanks for that link.I have been looking for a single breasted mac.The navy is perfect.I shall buy now.

tassisssss · 14/03/2011 13:01

I'm going back to try on this one that I saw in Laura Ashley's window last week!

blossoming · 14/03/2011 13:21

Thanks for those suggestions otchayaniye. I loved the art of the trench. Lovely. Well I quite like the orchid single breasted Hobbs coat on their site, but it seems to be selling like hot cakes. One minute my size was there, next it had gone. I'm heading to London this weekend with my voucher, if it's still valid, so will have a look. Otherwise, until I've saved up for the real thing, it'll be the BR one in cool slate.

Zembo · 14/03/2011 16:39

I bought this recently. Also bought a cotton duffle type coat from Comptoir. Love them both Grin

Zembo · 14/03/2011 16:43

This is the Comptoir coat Looks much better on. Have been complimented on it every time I've worn it.

The BR one is lovely - I got one last week when it was on offer (it may still be) and it is excellent quality and a nice fit. Very impressed as I was considering investing in a Burberry otherwise.
