If you are wearing maxi dresses or skirts now.....

Then what are you wearing on your feet?

I love the idea of wearing maxis now but I can't work out what to wear with them. Most offerings are quite floaty so biker boots to hefty. Ankle boots? Knee high boots? Flats or heels? Ballet flats?

Ideas please :)

Either cowboy boots (brown) or converse. I wear either, depends on the weather!!

BelligerentGhoul · 13/03/2011 12:23

Brown boots - sort of a cross between cowboy and biker, with a v slight chunky heel.

I really want some ankle boots for wearing with them as knee length boots are starting to feel wrong now!

Pinkflipflop · 13/03/2011 13:31

Any chance of some links for ideas?

I wear my denim maxi with little brown biker boots that I have. Will wear it with pumps in the summer.

Has anyone seen any nice (non jersey) maxis for summer yet?

These trainers are comfy, go with anything and have lasted me over a year (I wear almost every day)

RA, they're lovely skirts, but would you really wear them THAT long? Would they not be a nuisance trailing the ground? How would you walk upstairs? (or anywhere?) Would you get them taken up at all? Just curious.....

DonaAna · 13/03/2011 19:07

The last Mango link: to be accessorized with a matching paper bag worn over head?

I kind of like that first Mango link - strangely 1910 art nouveau somehow - but way too impractical for real life - dust, puddles, small children. And no, I don't think platform clogs will make it any more practical.

RAlover · 13/03/2011 19:22

Will see how long they are when (if) I get one....I tend to get a bit girly and start picking my skirt up to climb stairs [hmmm]
Just ideas really ladies!!

I'm wearing mine with these shoes and the Sterling Silver and Garnet spiral earrings on here

Usually I wear my own designs, but those are so boho and go with everything Smile

pommedeterre · 24/03/2011 19:13

Been wearing mine with gold flip flop style sandals today but if cooler ballet pumps but not sure it's a top look. Would like some lovely white pump/plimsoll things but with size 7 feet they all tend to look like boats sailing around under the dress.
Mine isn't floaty though - is this:

In colder weather I wear a chocolate brown riding boot or black suede flat boots fitted at the ankle. When it's warmer- bronze Birkenstock or flat Mary Jane crocs etc. I have worn a casual unadorned ballet pump too at times. Converse pumps are a good option too when the weather is changeable. Always flats for me.
