I think it is fairly common practice to wear what is 'traditionaly' a male scent if you are female. I've heard of a quite af ew people doing it.

Wear what suits you and you like.

If you feel uncomfortable saying it's a man's one just be vague and say oh i't just one from Prada!' and change the subject.

FromGirders · 12/03/2011 19:25

I do, I wear dh's New West, which I've always loved.
Not going to tell you what it makes me think of BlushGrin

BoysAreLikeDogs · 12/03/2011 19:26

not aftershave per se but I ADORE the hermes pamplemousse cologne

starfleet · 12/03/2011 20:31

I wear Marc Jacobs 'Bang'. Used to wear CK Eternity for Men.

Gertiegoolash · 12/03/2011 21:24

I used to wear Farenheit back in the day.

bibbitybobbityhat · 12/03/2011 21:26

Yes, because I like the woody fragrances.

Honeydragon · 12/03/2011 23:19

I used to wear Issy Mayake cologne for years. Then a close friends new DP wore it and I had to stop for her benefit Grin

polyhymnia · 12/03/2011 23:33

I really like, and have certainly been known to wear, Dior's Eau Sauvage.

emsyj · 12/03/2011 23:37

DH wears Opus 1870 from Penhaligons and when buying it for him one day the assistant thought it was for me and commented that it is really popular as a women's fragrance in Germany. I think it has a very clean sort of smell to it.

It's just a smell - if you like it, wear it.

BelligerentGhoul · 12/03/2011 23:43

I like quite masculine scents. Am wearing the Clarins red one at the moment, which my sister says smells like aftershave but I like a lot.

I often steal dp's Ted Baker men's shower gels, which smell all woody and yummy.

Ideally I'd like a scent that smells of tarmac tbh. :)

I'd say if you like it, go for it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/03/2011 10:27

I sometimes use DH floris vetiver, smells different on me than him. Lots of womens perfume is too sickly for my taste now.

Bearcrumble · 13/03/2011 10:28

Yes, there are some really nice men's scents. I love Czech and Speake's Neroli.

gregssausageroll · 13/03/2011 10:36

I've used a mens channel before. Can't remember what it is called.

catinthehat2 · 13/03/2011 10:47

a friend used Davidoff Cool Water bloke stuff a long time ago

otchayaniye · 13/03/2011 11:01

Yes, I use Eau Sauvage, Mouchoir de Monsieur and Habit Rouge and Ormonde Man from time to time. I find when I'm pregnant I prefer them to my usual Serge Lutens/Caron humdingers.

shesparkles · 13/03/2011 11:03

I used to pinch my dad's Kouros!

If I liked it I'd wear it

TracyK · 13/03/2011 11:03

I wear dh's farenheit or issey miyake etc. tbh a lot of mens aftershaves are very 'unisex' now anyway.

I hate most womens perfume - really sweet and sickly.

otchayaniye · 13/03/2011 11:03

"I love Czech and Speake's Neroli."
ooh yes.

Lots of perfumes are unisex (Cartier Declaration springs to mind) and many a metrosexual wears a traditionally female perfume. I love a man in Tabac Blonde (unfortunately they're usually the type not to love me)

BelligerentGhoul · 13/03/2011 11:27

Yes to issey miyake.
