Springy nailpolish colours

I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but I went to do my toenails last weekend, and all the colours seemed too wintery - navy blue, rouge noir etc. The only bright was red.

So, what will the discerning S&B lady be wearing on her tootsies and hands come spring? Inspire me

I'm still wearing rouge noir so I'm watching this with interest.

anniemac that colour is gorgeous but I wonder how it would look on my uber pale celtic skin. Very spring/summer

I'll be wearing lilacs/lavenders mainly, but also oranges, pastel pinks and blues and coral colours

thecatatemygymsuit · 11/03/2011 12:33

I bought this gorgeous sparkly green Jessica 'it girl' polish for a friend. Thought it would be good on Spring toes. She does have beautiful dark olive skin though - may not suit the pale?

applecrumbleandcream · 11/03/2011 18:16

After trying expensive nail varnishes and always being disappointed with the thinness and streakiness, I bought this the other day in 'Coralicious' and can't believe how fantastic it is for the price. It is a gorgeous springy/summery colour (would look lovely with a tan), the brush is absolutely brilliant and you really do get a great result in one minute, the colour is glossy and hasn't chipped after 3 days. I usually buy Revlon and Nails Inc nail varnishes but these Rimmel ones are just as good and cheaper!!

greentomato · 11/03/2011 20:13

I'll second that applecrumble - just bought 'Grey Matter' Rimmel one and tis great - doesn't chip and great brush. Perhaps not springy though.

southeastastra · 11/03/2011 20:16

i tend to stick to the same colours! i love nails inc picadilly circus, but barry m do a similar colour that also lasts quite a long time

anon80 · 11/03/2011 20:17

Just used topshops lilac nail varnish?!!! Needs 2 coats but looks brilliant and went on so nicly, brush is brill too!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 11/03/2011 20:18

Am going to try Rimmel & Topshop then!

polyhymnia · 11/03/2011 23:27

Currently mad about Essie's light grey Chinchilly, but fancy pale blue and lilac for summer.

polyhymnia · 11/03/2011 23:27

Not at the same time, though!

pinkkitten21 · 12/03/2011 13:44

I love Barry M's range - cheap and cheerful and last for a few days.

celticlassie · 12/03/2011 14:06

I love Rimmel nail polish and would always choose it over more expensive ones. I bought Portobello Pink yesterday and really like it.

lolcat · 12/03/2011 15:04

God I love that Chanel one too anniemac.

I am currently wearing this one, in Coral Romance. I agree Rimmel are great for nail polishes. I find the Lycra Pro lasts quite a bit longer than the 60 second range, but the choice of colours is not as good. The brush on the Lycra Pro is great too - very hard to mess up the application.

applecrumbleandcream · 12/03/2011 20:35

Definitely going to get the Rimmel Portobello Pink - its so pretty.

geordieminx · 12/03/2011 20:37

It's 3 for 2 on Rimmel in boots too.

applecrumbleandcream · 12/03/2011 20:40

Thanks Geordieminx didn't know that.

NettoSuperstar · 12/03/2011 20:40

I'm currently wearing a dark green OPI, but then it's snowing here, and not at all springy!
It's a really nice varnish, and was a gift so I love it all the more!

I'm a nail varnish junky, have about 30 different ones and buy more all the time, but my favourite is still Rimmel 'grey matter'.
Neutral, goes with anything, and is quite me.
It's very shiny and lasts well for a few days too.

applecrumbleandcream · 12/03/2011 20:45

I have just wiped off my Rimmel 'Coralicious' and have just put on this, really nice camel nail varnish from Nails Inc which is ideal for me at work as it is neutral and goes with all outfits

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2011 20:46

I don't wear nail varnish. But I love the Chanel Orange Fizz! Might check it out...

geordieminx · 12/03/2011 21:23

Just painted mine apricot punch by rimmel

Think nudes and peach tones are in this season, although some of the nude shades make your fingers look a bit weirdy...mannequin-esque almost?
