I've got a wedding coming up at the end of april plus a wedding reception in may and need some new clothes and am a bit stuck where to look. I'm 5'4, about size 10/12 and have hair like this
I was thinking of a shift dress but not sure what shoes or possibly a top and trousers plus nice cardy. If i don't start looking now i'll never get something in time. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be greatful, i don't go clothes shopping very often as i don't have the cash so i'm somewhat out of the habit.

yes sorry! I think hobbs is out of my price range sadly. I'm reckoning on up to £90 or so for the budget to include shoes if possible. I love quite dusty colours if you get my drift, dusky dark pinks and greens, minky browny kind of colours and plums/ dark reds.

Oasis do some quite nice stuff but not sure where else? I'm also considering crepey drapey trousers which I could put with a ted baker deep plummy purple vest top i have but no idea where does that kind of thing. I would need a super special cadry to go with on that one though.

I love the yellow one although not sure if i could carry off the colour, there is a red version though. and either could be accessorised with black tights and mid height black suede peep toe heels.
I'm liking the long sleeve shift dress idea as could still be freezing in april/ may so could layer up underneath.

the bottom one is beautiful and would certainly warrant being tried on to see if the shape suits. Not sure what shoes/ tights would go with it? Would a soft grey make a good accessory colour?

some lovely choices to start me off here, thanks.

Now where's good for shoes.....?

I would wear the pink one with black opaques and perhaps leopardprint or snakeskin heels, but that look is not for everyone Wink Grey opaques would also work well. Nude or cream tights too.

I think the yellow shift dress is lovely and would look great with black tights and shoes as you suggest. A hat would look good- something like this. I much prefer the yellow- with dark hair I would have thought it worked well?

Also here and here. And here.
