I feel black would look wrong - grey maybe?

I wear aubergine or have a lovely mauve colour that look v nice.

voiceofnoreason · 10/03/2011 13:33

Hiya - depends on the colour of your shoes. I always try and stick to the rule of lighter or same colour tights as my shoes. I feel that except for very rare circs tights darker than the shoes looks wrong. (Leopard print with black opaques is the only one i can think of that works in my mind).

What shoes you gonna wear? Link to dress too please?

whoneedssleepanyway · 10/03/2011 13:35

oh dear that's me got it wrong today then

sneaks off in black opaques nude shoes combo

AbsDuCroissant · 10/03/2011 13:36

It's this dress but in this colour, with white long sleeved t and cardigan over. Shoes would probably be black ballet pumps

I agree with the no no to shoes lighter than tights. And sometimes dress lighter than tights.

oh god you r going to have me taking my shoes off in a minute, i thought it looked quite good...!

PlumSykes · 10/03/2011 13:58

If yr shoes are black, then black tights too.

whoneedssleepanyway · 10/03/2011 14:17

Having rethought the black shoes thing I agree with Plum, I wear navy dress aubergine tights, navy shoes...

Still on about the dark tight light shoes thing (apologies for hijacking the thread) I have on black dress with little camel coloured spots, black opaques and nude shoes (same colour as spots in the dress) is this an exception to what seems to the be the rule or have i just got it all wrong (again....)

voiceofnoreason · 10/03/2011 14:26

Who needs - nude shoes and black tights is a tough look to work in my book. But if the spots work with the shoes - then you may just be getting away with it. I would say that it may well depend on the style, length of dress etc.

Plum is right tho - black pumps need black tights or else it looks a little odd.

Of course of the nude shoes are statement pieces it may well work. All in all it depends really, and hey rules are meant to be broken.

Aubergine tights will look lovely i reckon, or how about that pale grey i have seen about?

AbsDuCroissant · 10/03/2011 14:54

Hm, yes. I think aubergine or grey.

I have never given this much consideration to a work outfit before Grin All I wanted was to figure out how to wear a dress I love, that is normally only worn in summer

I think I may have just got away with it, the shoes are beautiful (Jimmy Choos I was given) and match the colour of the spots so I think (hope) it works.

Abs - I find myself overthinking things a lot since I discovered S&B Blush

AbsDuCroissant · 10/03/2011 15:10

Well, Jimmy Choos - that's definitely allowed.

What size are they?

voiceofnoreason · 10/03/2011 15:21

Maiidamess · 10/03/2011 16:21

Bright orange

AbsDuCroissant · 10/03/2011 16:32

Damnit. Too big

I do have a friend who has the same size feet as me, and a sizable Jimmy Choo/Manolo Blahnik collection, and does she share? No. I'm thinking of defriending her

voiceofnoreason · 10/03/2011 16:46

Abs - she is the same size and doesnt share? That just isnt on. I think you should issue an ultimatum Envy
