smoothing hair products

Does anyone use a smoothing product for their hair?

I've got dead straight hair that's quite fine and flyaway, can you recommend a product I can use to keep my hair looking less scarecrow-y without weighing it down?

I've had a look at the Aveda smoothing stuff, has anyone tried that?

I've got thick curly hair but it does get flyaway - if you've got finer hair you don't want anything that will weigh it down or add grease. They do something called Pure Abundance which my fine haired friend recommends. But I'd firstly beg a sample - they bloody should with the prices Aveda charge, and go to Makeupalley as they have reviews by ordinary women for practically every product under the sun (as opposed to biased reviews by beauty editors)

I absolutely love Aveda's Control Paste which I smooth onto the front of my hair when I put it up. One jar lasts me about two years.

Fine, straight, blonde flyaway hair and I occasionally use John Frieda's Dream Cream. Nice and not too heavy. Most hair products are too greasy and heavy for my fine hair.

Toni & Guy's Label M Hair Polish is quite good for that. I use it on shoots to get rid of that fuzzy aura you get from random short hairs. It doesn't make your hair greasy but I'd say use in moderation. Just rub a bit into the palm of your hand, rub hands together and smooth over hair.

Thanks for those suggestions, I'm off to peruse Makeup Alley now!
