The sizing is a bit wonky, but I generally find the court style ones big - I'm normally a 6 but just bought a pair today in a 5 and they were comfy.

which ones is it?

sazm · 09/03/2011 00:08

hmm, might have to go a bit of a road tip (about 80 miles) to try them on!!

its these ones here which i really like, although im not sure if they are going to be too high for me,in which case i may go for these

Most on-line stores, incl Schuh, have a dead easy return policy, so rather than an 80 mile round trip I'd just order them on-line and if they don't fit send them back for an exchange/refund - P&P (if you have to pay it) would be cheaper than 80 miles worth of petrol anyway!

I'm really not a fan of IC shoes (kinda like marmite, you either love them or hate them)but if I had to pick a pair, it would be the first pair you linked. Looks quite a chunky heel so shouldn't be too hard to walk/balance in.

sazm · 09/03/2011 00:24

lol, thanks am just heading for a look at the returns policy lol!
yep some of them are MAD lol but some are lovely, i love the first ones,am just not sure if they are going to kill my feet lol!!!
that was the second ones lol,was thinking they look comfier!!!
this is the dress they are to go with maxi

or this one below knee length!

its for a hen night - theme is at the oscars!(im a size 18-20) help me decide!!!! PLEASE !!

OP posts:
FaffTastic · 09/03/2011 00:32

Either dress (though prob the first if its 'oscar night'), but DEFINATELY the first pair of shoes in my opinion. Think the purple flats would look wrong with both. Actually, think the purple flats would look wrong with anything Grin

sazm · 09/03/2011 00:35

haha lol,not sure if the heels go with the long dress though? (esp as im a 18-20??)

OP posts:
FaffTastic · 09/03/2011 00:43

It depends on the length of the dress with the heels. If the long dress flaps around your ankles then heels would look awful. I attended a black tie -do on fri night and wore a long dress for the first time in years (apart from my summer maxis) and you could only see my shoes when I sat down (or the tips/toes of them when I walked) Neither of the IC shoes would be anywhere near my first choice to go with either dress, but if you're asking what pair of IC shoes that you've linked, then definatley the first pair imo. Though, IC shoes are statement shoes, so maybe the 2nd shorter dress? If you like and have shoes like that, you may as well show them off rather than keep them hidden?

sazm · 09/03/2011 00:49

hmm lol,yep i love the shoes, and am kind of thinking if im going to suffer the (possible/probable) pain of wearing them i want people to see them lol!

i never go anywhere lol, hence needing a dress and shoes,i have NO dress shoes at all! the shorter dress is exactly what i was looking for,i had planned silver sandals, but all the ones i found were too strappy and had a narrow heel (which i would fall off lol)
i did debate these for with the long one,but not sure if they are dressy enough?

OP posts:
FaffTastic · 09/03/2011 01:21

Right, that's it, shorter dress and first pair of IC shoes!!

The gladiator sandles would go with the longer dress but you need heels on a night out to add height/loose inches - flats aren't very 'oscar' are they dah-ling Grin. Think heels with the shorter dress would definatley be more flattering than flats.

sazm · 09/03/2011 01:26

haha lol, that was my first choice lol, then i found the longer dress!

the longer dress wouldnt look right on me with heels (im 5ft 7ish) so think it would hit right at my ankles,

lol,was thinking if it was long enough it would kind of hide the shoes flat shoes anyway lol.
ok im off to order the shoes in the morning, gives me 3 weeks to practise wearing them in the house before the night out!!!!

THANKYOU :)

i think their sizing is way out and def on the small size..so i never buy them on eBay and other online any more..try on in shop and some styles fit me, some don't. Their 8's are more 7's and 8's so it's no good to me..they don't do 9

lololizzy · 09/03/2011 23:34

i meant, their 8s are more like 7s and I'm 8 so this is rubbish

sazm · 10/03/2011 14:07

OOOH, thanks for that, the ones i wanted are out of stock,
i've seen a pair i like on ebay but they are 7,im a 6,so hopefully they should fit then?!!

i ended up going for the long dress,(as i've managed to get the biggest bruise on my leg, lol) but its long enough i can wear heels and it hits just the right place!

OP posts:
lololizzy · 10/03/2011 21:54

makes me want to cry as i love their styles but they don't do 9's and their 8's are like 7's! Sooo annoying why can't all shoes in UK be standard. Yes i would absolutely get a 7 if you are a 6!

scotsgirl23 · 10/03/2011 22:07

I really wouldn't bet on them being big! Check out the forum on the irregular choice website if you post the styles of the ones you are interested in then people will give you an idea of if they run big or small.

They are very erratic - I've just ordered a pair of the scottie dog ones and had to order a 5 (having tried on in schuh first) as the 6 was ENORMOUS. I am also having to sell a pair of the tape measure ones I bought on ebay as they are also massive.

scotsgirl23 · 10/03/2011 22:08

Sorry, bet on them being small even!

sazm · 11/03/2011 10:05

hmm,not sure what to do lol!!
im going away on tuesday so going to see if i can sneak into a schuh somewhere on my travels to try them on!!

thanks all x
