What would you wear over a wrap-ish dress at a wedding.

I have a purple dress I intend to wear to a wedding, kind of like a wrap dress iyswim. It has 3/4 length sleeves.

What should I wear over the top to dress it up a bit.
I'm only 30, I don't want to look frumpy, but I don't want to be cold either. (Wedding early April.)

Maybe a navy blazer? If it's for a wedding I would whack a huge flower corsage on the lapel but I appreciate that is not to everyone's taste Grin

Actually this one is nicer...

Fitted jacket with a waist, a little bolero jacket (debut in debenhams are good for these) or a posh cardi eg fitted with diamanté buttons

Ooh, thanks for your replies.

FauxFox, I love the idea of a blazer, as I can wear it afterwards.

Flutey, would a waist-length jacket or bolero go ok with a big bum?Blush

Depends on the bum! If you have a luscious, curvy bum and a small waist, I think a small, fitted bolero can look fab and accentuate the curves. If it's a a flabby bum with an accompanying muffin top, I would probably go with a longer waisted jacket :o

QueeferSutherland · 08/03/2011 21:07

Well, I have a waist. It is shapely, but not small. I have a big arse.

To some men I'm probably the hottest thing on legs, but for most, I have a flabby arse.

So what colour?

Black would look elegant with purple, you could add fishnets to look a bit punky. Depending on the purple, a bright pink or sagey green could also work?

QueeferSutherland · 08/03/2011 21:50

Ooh, I have green.

It would not go.

Can I wear a black cardi to a wedding? Really? I did nearly buy one the other day. It had a corsage on it although I would have stuck a bigger one on.

I think so as long as it's a smart one, I'd pick one which is well structured not drapey or floppy. And a big corsage on it would look fab.

I always think cardis with 3/4 sleeves look dressier. With nice heels as well it'll be fab!
