Ok i've managed to get my hands on 3 pots of the stuff - is it as good a facial moisturiser as everyone says.

Personally I found it far too greasy and it bought me out in spots, but I have very sensitive skin.

HouseOfBamboo · 08/03/2011 16:17

It's basically just whipped up olive oil - if olive oil does it for you, then it's great! Smells nice, if nothing else.

withagoat · 08/03/2011 16:18

nah
its just greasy

foundwanting · 08/03/2011 16:20

Oh, the smell. It is really horrendous, I can't use it on my face.

Brilliant on scaly shins though.

FreeButtonBee · 08/03/2011 16:20

I use it as a face mask. Slather on to skin before a bath, then remove with a hot muslin cloth at the end. You will only need a very light moisturiser afterwards. Particularly good if your skin is suffering with the cold weather or if you have flakey patches.

Agree that it can be a bit much as a moisturiser but have done so to squeaky clean skin when it's v v dry.

MrsFreedy · 08/03/2011 16:49

Tx I'll give it a go and see what happens my face is dry at the mo due to the weather.

It doesnt really absorb in my case, just hangs around on the skin...

dexter73 · 08/03/2011 18:09

It's a bit like vaseline that smells nice. I bought a tub a couple of years ago after the initial furore about it and it is still half full!

Smells nice, but way too thick to use on the face.

If anyone wants my pot, PM me - it's yours!

womma · 08/03/2011 20:31

I wouldn't put it near my bottom!

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/03/2011 20:33

It is no good as a moisturiser, but brilliant as a cleanser.

Just slather a load on, then remove with a boiling hot wet flannel.

It's like the oil cleansing method but less faff.

otchayaniye · 08/03/2011 21:05

I also use it as a cleanser and I also do the oil method. Like a cheapo Eve Lom/Neal's Yard.

Celery · 08/03/2011 22:08

Well, I like it as a night time moisturiser, so there!

It is heavy and oily, but my skin seems to absorb it, and has been lovely and soft and blemish free since using it.

FreeButtonBee · 09/03/2011 10:43

Ah GetOrf - twas you that put me onto using it as cleanser. Ta muchly.

aquavit · 09/03/2011 16:31

I charged onto this thread to rave about using it for OCM but I see I've been beaten to it. This at last provided a use for those bloody muslins that everyone said I'd need when I had a baby!

roary · 09/03/2011 20:51

I love it. It's sorted out my skin completely but I have very very dry skin!
