Does anyone know where I can find a jersey/knitted long sleeved maxi dress (NOT maternity!) that doesn't cost more than about £60? I am struggling.

bargainous but no idea of quality

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 12:22

asos

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 12:23

3/4 length sleeves

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 12:24

Ooh wonderful. I'm impressed with your researching skills!

Cor, love the style of that last one, but it's a bit 'Nan's curtains'. Second one is see through, though a useful style/colour.

Asos is clearly the place to watch, though! I bought a similar style dress in dark green from them, will just say watch out for the quality - it was very, very thin fabric that concealed absolutely nothing. Have bought a couple of wrap-style dresses from Red Herring (Debenhams) and Betty Jackson Black (again, Debbys) that have been made of far more robust jersey and so hang better, disguise the unwanteds and don't need ironing.

Result!

Mint Velvet - grey au naturalment

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 12:29

I love maxis, so am loving searching with a purpose Grin

scary horizontal stripes? Had some good reviews from size 8 bods though.

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 12:35

Hmmm peacock feathers?

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 12:36

quality will be good, but v high necked

www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/warehouse/Dresses/Morgan-Maxi-Dress/201335050

Comes in a couple of colours; super flattering neckline for evening (prob needs a cami for day). Is more than #60 but there is a code for 20% off knocking around.

gpage · 06/03/2011 13:33

Hmm peacock feathers. I have to say it looks quite groovy and I have an urge to get that one. Not sure I could get away with at the toddlers singing and rhyme session though... Would alarm the jeans and trainers brigade!

Stripes make me nervous at the best of times!

Morgan dress looks good.

You are all amazing to find these things.

SWMNBF - I thought that was some weird mumsnet message for something....then realised it was the Phase 8 code. I think I'll go for a lie down.

Yes, I like the peacock feathers one, though I do see the novelty might wear off. Large pattern very good for dispersing the eyeline away from lumps and bumps!! Do consider it, OP.

I do love discussions like this. V good hunting, Febreeze.

missmehalia · 06/03/2011 13:51

OP, think if you're just buying one, the Mint Velvet one is probably a winner. Would probably fit in with your wardrobe instantly, and could be altered in a huge variety of ways. Am seriously tempted myself!!

withagoat · 06/03/2011 14:06

lol at Mint velvet being grey

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 14:49

Blush it was a pleasure, I have my eye on a couple there myself. I do have a peacock feather maxi but in far more muted tones.

gpage · 06/03/2011 15:57

I am so excited by all the options! Are you all as good at finding handbags as you are maxi dresses...

Green leather messenger bag (not the radley style though!), big enough to fit a water bottle, wipes, snacks for children, purse etc nut not a satchel? Not too expensive either? New thread do you think?

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 16:50

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 16:54

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 16:57

I think I have too much time on my hands - I'm supposed to be supervising homework!!!!

FebreezeYourJeans · 06/03/2011 16:57
