What do you wear as a spring jacket- casual?

Any suggestions?

I keep looking at para style jackets- Jigsaw and kew have some- but they are almost knee length and at 5'3/ size 8-10 I think they may over whelm me?

I quite like a military style jacket from Comptoir but think it might be old stock- it's khaki colour , cotton, no padding. ( hate to say it but Sam Cam wore one last year pre-election with jeans,)

That other thread is trench coats really, MmeCholet.

What about casual spring jackets? (I am also looking, but not sure what for).

madammecholet · 05/03/2011 15:02

I do like the mac in the other thread though, makes a lovely spring coat imo...also saw this yesterday, was lovely and summery, easy to wear with jeans and lightweight.

I am 5ft and tried the Kew parka but it was way too big for me...

Instead, I went for this in navy

coat

NO doubt I will be shot down in flames by lots of MNs but the fit is good and it has a hood when I am doing the school run Grin

madammecholet I really like the Banana Republic ones you linked to, can you tell me if they only do mail order or if I can buy their clothes in the shops anywhere? I'm an odd shape and really need to try things on! Also - what are their sizes like?

madammecholet · 06/03/2011 11:17

bluejeans, they do have shops so look at store locator for your nearest. Sizing same as Zara i'd say, slightly on the small side.

Butterbur · 06/03/2011 11:35

MadammeCholet, some of those are lovely. Do you think any of them could be worn with a dress, so make it look less dressy?

Especially the Zara Hooded Jacket, the Uniqlo one or the Banana Republic Military Stand Collar.

Butterbur · 06/03/2011 11:36

Sorry, Banana Republic one is the crinkled cotton.

madammecholet · 06/03/2011 12:00

Butterbur I would wear the 2nd banana republic one with a dress definetly, not sure I would with the others, they are more jeans/trousers imo.

But you may look great, it's alot to do with your attitude and whether you can pull it off.. Smile

It's probably a look that's too young for me too. I shallmake up for it with attitude Grin. I think I shall order that Banana Republic one.

I have a metallic grey parka from Wallis (surprise find) and I love it.
It's in the sale atm in other colours too.
