Francesco Biasia bags - thoughts?

none in particular that i'd link to but lots on Ebay that i've seen that i like.

I think i've seen the name around but wondered what the general consensus was to style and quality? they seem quite expensive (well, for what i'd spend on a bag anyway!) so are they worth it?

TIA

Never ever heard of these. Not that I'm an authority.

It kind of sounds a bit like one of those names of cheap Italian leather shops in shopping centres ... I always think they look a bit dodge tbh. But maybe that's something entirely different.

Link to one you like, maybe?

I have one in tan, it cost £200 and is the best bag I have ever bought. It is beautifully lined and looks classy with anything I wear. I used it for work for years and now keep it for special occasions. Get one, you won't regret it!

IngridBergmann · 05/03/2011 07:59

they are very pricey, I got one from tkmaxx about 2 years ago and though the quality is superb (real high end stuff) I don't really get on with the style, so I have never used it. Which makes me feel really guilty!

You get a lovely pink sleeper as well.

Go for it but choose one you know you will use. Also watch out on ebay as you might do far better in TKM, ie £99 rather than £245 etc.

IngridBergmann · 05/03/2011 08:00

You can buy mine if you like Grin though I would miss the lining and the sleeper!

Had a tan satchell style one from JL years ago - it wore really well. Think I hocked it on ebay in the end.

I've got a tan one that I have used for many years as my main bag when not at work. Very sadly it's looking a bit scruffy round the edges. I love the bag though and always got loads of compliments about it. Quality is excellent and I highly recommend the brand. Go for it!

I have a couple of them, they are very well made and good quality leather.Quite understated too as I don't like anything that screams "designer". My favourite one, brown leather with beautiful lining was sadly stolen from my car last year. I have replaced it with a Mimco bag which was expensive but not as nice as the Biaisa. Go for it I say!

OhCobblers · 06/03/2011 13:44

partyhats i agree with your thought about them being understated. so much so that i've not noticed them before Grin
though i did see a lovely black one in TK MAxx about a year ago and was sorely tempted.
However, DH had bought me a lovely black £250 bag from R&B a few years ago and would be a bit miffed if i bought similar!!

I have 6 or 7 Francesco Biasia bags and their quality is generally excellent. Definitely have a look in TK Maxx or on their website, as they often have some. I bought a fab one in my local TK Maxx, on Friday which is absolutely beautiful and was a steal at only £64.

DirtyMartini · 07/03/2011 20:55

Gosh, eye-opening thread for me - I honestly thought I'd have at least heard of a brand so many people rate, just from living in a fairly big city and seeing lots of brands around. Oh well. Shows how out of touch I am Grin

Apologies, OP, I didn't read carefully enough, hence asking you to link.

sparkle1977 · 07/03/2011 21:02

Go for it. I had one about two years back from JL that was brown leather and a wonderful pink leather inside. Very good quality as others say.

OhCobblers · 09/03/2011 12:20

i might be able to get a good quality 2nd hand one (not ebay) for £60 - sounds like that might be considered a bargain?
