They all seem to have been created with a bridesmaid in mind.

They're definitely more daytime than evening on the whole.

Boden is ok (ish) only for children

Very safe, I agree. Meant as unthreatening choices for middle-class weddings, I'd think. And, since all sleeveless, no doubt thinking is that you'll also want to gat a Boden cover-up of some kind - preferably from Limited Edition range, thus increasing expenditure further.

Not my cup of tea - but then I fell out of love with Boden last week!

Their women's stuff and The White Stuff's seem like oversized clothes for 8 year old girls.

A colleague of mine has a lovely one that she wore to an event recently- not empire-line, perfect for her figure and colouring... it was from a few years ago though.
