High waisted kick flares

monkeysmama · 03/03/2011 09:35

I want some kick flairs - they have to be blue, high waisted and reasonable tight on the thigh with a flare.

I am a 12 / 30 waist and 32" or 34" leg.

I have been thinking about these MiH Marrakesh jeans in blue but I am not sure how long I will want them for and it seems like a lot to spend.

TIA

I ordered these by accident but when they arrived I was impressed by how nice they are!

The waist sits higher on me than it does on the model.

I tried them on actually but the mid blue denim felt really funny and didn't sit right on. Maybe I should try the paler ones.

I tried these on in Gap and they were very flattering and nice and long. Nice high waist.

jeans

They also do some proper flares but they arent very tight on the thighs.

almost like your link here?

monkeysmama · 03/03/2011 11:03

Smug (great name), I have ordered those. Thanks very much.

Thanks for the Mango link too S. I never think of Mango so will have a browse.

So the Gap ones arrived (two pairs actually as I was over avid in pressing the "buy" button!) and they don't fit properly.

Any other suggestions?

I have a pair of Marrakesh and I really like them. They are not super high waisted (feel more like regular mid-rise) but I like them - warning, very long in the leg though. Had to shorten them a bit and I'm 5'7. I got mine from Outnet for about £70 and they are great. Another good pair I have is Seven for All Mankind's Ginger (they are bit dressier and less 1970s) - lots of washes and you can get them on sale too.

Hi MM! I'm in disguise but these are good

TapselteerieO · 09/03/2011 20:28

I sometimes like River Island for jeans.

I haven't got those ones, but I like the fit of their jeans better than Topshop, they seem to be more flattering imho.

What shoes go with kickflares?

monkeysmama · 10/03/2011 13:29

Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks for the Marrakesh low down - very helpful.

I think MrsC encouraged me to buy some TS Baxters last year which I love so I've ordered Topshop and RI ones. If they're no good I'll go for the MiH.

The RI jeans have arrived and are brilliant! Thanks Taps. I ordered a dark beige pair too and am wearing them now with a leopard print top and clogs.

You are welcome Monkeysmama, the whole outfit with the beige pair sounds fab.
