Where's good for Skinny Jeans?

Ok so I know I am a bit behind the curve here, but I haven't got a pair of skinny jeans! Which brands are best? I am 5'8" and a size 10/12 and can't seem to find any that suit.

Also, what do you wear them with?

Any thoughts? Thank you!

Levis curve, there are threads worshiping it here.

I was in town planning on getting 7 for all mankind, but they didnt complement me at all. Whereas my Levis bold curves are constantly telling me how great I am!

Thanks twoboots - will look into those. Are they true to size? Also, do they go baggy around the knees? Every pair I have tried seem to go baggy and make me look like I have big thighs (they are not small but not big! Grin)

I got some nice ones in Zara.

Preggersplayspop · 02/03/2011 22:19

Only ones that I have found comfy are 7 for all mankind. Worth the extra, tho I did get mine in the sale at my wardrobe. I am about the same height and size. They are very stretchy, no bagginess at all.

posey · 02/03/2011 22:24

I've tried them from a few places and the best fitting, least bagging/fading ones I've ever had were from Primark.

suwoo · 02/03/2011 22:30

Primarni. £8. Even the gorgeous Letthemeatcake owns some.

NinkyNonker · 03/03/2011 08:28

Yes to Primark. Only the dark rinse and black though, the lighter colour was a different fabric, less stretchy.

RamblingRosa · 03/03/2011 08:32

Uniqlo everytime (I'm 5"8 too and they're the right length for me).

I recommend their new perfect slim ones or the skinny straight (as opposed to tapered) ones but that's just personal preference. It depends if you like ones that are skinny all the way to the ankle or if you like ones that are a bit straighter.

noddyholder · 03/03/2011 08:49

Agree re the primark ones My ds had them for 2 years running for school in black and they kept their shape really well.I have a dark pair and they are actually a really good fit in fact I had forgotten about them so may get them out today Thanks!

I am your size (I think 5'8", 12), just bought an EDC pair which are great. 70% off on sale.
similar but simpler front

I have trouble with jeans (usually baggy on the lower back), those are nice and comfortable, not baggy at the knees.
Wear with shirts, tunics, and tees.

I tried some esprit too which didn't fit at all.

wrigglytummy · 03/03/2011 12:32

OP, I am a similar size to you, was very disappointed with my first Gap skinnies, but ADORE my Oasis (I think they are called Cherry?) skinnies - I now have 2 pairs. Nice colours, don't fade or bag, decent price.

HTH

Thanks - loads of ideas! I went straight for the big guns of j brand etc thinking they are bound to be right but they just don't work on me. I also tried Gap and Banana Rep but they don't seem to work. I haven't got a primark or a uniqlo near me so will maybe give the oasis ones a go and zara (but is it just me or is their sizing incredibly erratic??)
