Hello

Having trouble with my epilator I think.

I epilated 3 days ago and have short hairs comming through in places- my legs are pale and my hairs black/dark so I can see them clearly, when I finished epilating i could see there was no hairs there but when i run my hand up my legs I could feel stubble??

Is this the case with you?
am I supposed to just do it then keep doing it every 3 or so days till nothing is there- but surly by that time then the first lot would have started growing back

I did leave my legs for all the hairs to grow this time and im sure they had, they were all long.

Also when can I put on some dove summer glow without it showing all the pores up?

Thank you

The hairs grow at different rates so the ones coming through can be done now

no idea bout the Dove. Patch test?

UML · 03/03/2011 08:22

Yes, sometimes hair snaps - I am not sure why this happens!

barbieisaskinnybitch · 03/03/2011 09:29

I find it the same anon80, I just regularly do it til I get all the buggers eventually. Def patch test the Dove as holey legs look is not good!

Does sound like hairs being snapped instead of pulled. Can I ask what epilator you have? I'm thinking of getting one but don't want to waste money on one that doesn't really do the job.

rusmum · 03/03/2011 12:08

i have a silk epil one- really good one, wet/dry etc. Cost me fortune but don't use it as it sets off my psoriasis. boo

anon80 · 03/03/2011 12:12

Have the silk epil one too Ephiny.

Althou to be honest it sounds like i was using it wrong- where did i get the impression id only need to epilate once a month lol-

I dont think its snapping the hairs to be honest, i thought you only had to use it once a month but after research have discovered others use it once a week, must be all growing at diffrent rates like someone above suggested.

It cost alot but i dont regret it- im very very hairy and it does do a great job still- so much better than shaving.

I think once a month is probably a bit optimistic - would for me anyway! Waxing only lasts properly for about a week for me, maybe two weeks if you don't look too closely Blush, which is a lot better than shaving every day but nowhere near the 'smooth legs for four weeks' they claim on the packet!

The Braun sill-epil is the one I'm considering, have heard generally good things about it...

thenightsky · 03/03/2011 12:44

I have that braun one too.

I do legs and pits once a week.

Wish I could do lady garden too, but after two very painful attempts I no longer have the courage to try again.

Magicglassesfairy · 03/03/2011 13:27

same thing here - only lasts abotu 1 week - I wondered if I was doing it too quickly - do you have to do it really slowly to pull them out?

CameronCook · 03/03/2011 13:51

I'm fair skinned and dark haired and was really surprised that after 2 years of weekly epilating my leg hair is much more sparse.

I would imagine that the people who can epilate once a month are those that are fair haired and have been epilating since their teens perhaps.

Still I do like not having to shave my legs every day in the summer
