a pair of lace up boots with furry tops. Not the Timberland sort, nor with high heels, but something feminine and in-between the two. The only place I've seen them is Russell & Bromley at about £120+ but unfortunately Ernie hasn't picked my Premium Bonds yet.

Has anyone seen something like these anywhere more affordable? Or am I being hopelessly outdated and altogether too yesterday?

You all still going barefoot through the summer grasses then?

They've got loads of them in Jonathan James at the moment. I don't know what the prices are like (I was looking for children's shoes at the time) but they're usually very affordable.

Debenhams have got some in as well, but they're usually a bit pricier.

Where is Jonathan Jasmes? I'm in N Lodnon.

They're a chain with branches all over the place; I don't know London so don't know if there are any branches there.

I don't really know what sort you mean - do you mean the tie up with rabiit skin showing type? If so they have them in Charles Clinkard. Or do you mean more ugg/mukuk style?

I have some lovely red healed boots on eBay at the moment - very reasonably priced...

mummytosteven · 20/10/2005 11:55

do you mean lace up the front or lacy bits on the side PC?

PrettyCandles · 21/10/2005 22:30

I meant the tie up the front with rabbit fur type, but lacing up the side sounds nice too. I generally find long-legged boots don't fit me because my calves are too big, so it hadn't occurred to me to look at side-lacing ones.

So far, unfortunately, I don't recognise any of te suggested shop names! Guess London must be a bit too provincial .

PrettyCandles · 23/10/2005 21:45

Oh dear, heels - not a hope!

Thanks Coddy, but one reason I want lace-up boots is so that I can fit my orthotics in them!

wallopyCOD · 23/10/2005 21:46

fairyfly · 23/10/2005 21:48

oh i want those, i could wear them when i'm due on to keep people away

PrettyCandles · 23/10/2005 22:01

Is Boho a make or a style?

I can't find a picture of the sort of thing I want, but the boots don't come up beyond mid-calf - ie where the leg is widest.
