its not the glossy brown i was after, but darker and duller.
Today i have used some frizz ease serum on it and i was debating shine sprays in boots this morning. My hair is in good condition and regualrly cut so no split ends etc, but it just seems dull.
I'm normally a highlighted blonde but got fed up of the upkeep and spending one saturday a month sat in the hair dressers, as i work full time and have 4 young children. Also i find that my hair looks great the day i washed it but the next day its lank and brassy looking, and I prefer not to wash my hair every day.
Should i just go back to blonde or does anyone have a magic hair dye that they use that will give me the gloss i crave?
I used the john frieda mousse to dye my hair on sunday.

Is your hair very layered? I ask this because I have dark hair and it used to much shinier when I just had a few layers framing my face but since it is layered throughout it seems less shiny.

I'd be off back to the hairdressers for a semi-permanent or repair job.
IMO brunette hair was just as difficult to keep shiny and glossy (mine is naturally gorgeously dark mousey brown) as blonde in the end!

I hear you I miss my blonde, but consol yourself that brown often looks healthier

perhaps a mahogany semi permanenet to make hair look richer??

I would get it sorted at the hairdressers. Going from blonde to brunette can be problematic (took me approx 4 or more colouring sessions to actually stay brunette between treatments and not go ginger inbetween).

Perhaps a glossing treatment would help? Not sure if salons do these anymore but seem to remember a friend going blonde and having very dull hair as a result. Gloss treatment sorted it out but is probably a temporary measure.

try using John Frieda brunette conditioner, makes brown hair glossy.
Or have some copper highlights put in to liven it up.

Give it a few washes, perhaps - it will reveal a more multi-tonal hue which you may prefer.

I went from blonde to brown several years ago now. I loved it, but I always had a few highlights (t-section) to give it a multi-tonal sunkissed golden look, and without that I just felt too dull and dark.

Its nowhere near the upkeep, particularly if you do the "base colour" yourself - 3 times a year for a t-section, tops.

Go red - proper red! I did - i was a brassy blonde for years. Love my hair now...

This is amazing like a glaze you would get at the hair dressers, use it after conditioning it has a bit of colour and adds depth and shine.
