Best temporary hair colour for 10 yr old girl (she wants to be Ginny Weasley!)

DD wants to be Ginny Weasley in muggle clothes for World Book Day - easy costume as it is jeans, hoodie and trainers plus a wand! However she wants me to try dyeing her hair red! She has a long bob, shoulder length, no fringe and it is light brown in colour. Would something like Shaders/Toners work or am I wasting my money? I wouln't normally allow her to dye her hair but am okay with this so long as it washes out in a week or so and is not vivid red! Thanks...

How red does she want it?

How about the spray hair colours you can get (e.g. from Claires accessory) or is that too red?

Other than that I was going to suggest Shaders and toners or a wig

Hi thanks, can't really afford a wig and I think those spray ones are too bright red - she really wants to be more auburn/ginger. Maybe we'll give the shaders/toners a go - I used to buy them as a teenager and never thought they worked but my hair is a much darker brown.

unsure what brand of temp hair colour to go for, but, for removing it afterwards, head and shoulders rubbed in ++ and leave on for 10 mins apparently takes the colour out (I've v dark brown hair too so never saw any difference when trying to dye my hair!!).

Vosene (or any other clarifying shampoo, pantene do one) will strip the colour quicker.

Yep shaders and toners are pretty good if she's not too dark - and I've heard baby shampoo is good for getting rid afterwards.

IME, temporary colours never come out completely - I would be wary of them.

Hi, well I bought some bright orange spray on stuff from Boots, we tried it on one strand and it just makes it look reddish, so hopefully that will do the job! Just hope one can is enough to do her whole head or she will just be Ginny Weasley from the front!! Shaders and toners only seem to be available in a couple of shades these days.
