This has only dawned on me today, because today I feel I may have actually been able to do this. It was by total accident btw!

I think I see each item of clothing seperately and not as a whole look. I just think, I'm going to wear jeans, right, now find a top, etc.

Today I think I ended up midly biker as I wore my Fly Ota's, in chocolate brown with some jeans (cuffed to show the boots a bit) and my kind of mild biker leather jacket (a fashion item, not my motorbike jacket!!) Also, in choc brown. This as I say was a complete accident, but it really made me think I should try and put things together with more thought!

Question is, what kind of bag would you have put with this? Style and colour.
Also, what is going to make it easier to help me do this more often?

Thanks Smile

I can't advise on the bag but I would recommend next time you go shopping for clothing that you take a couple of your existing bits with you. For example, if you have a skirt but can never find the right top at home and so keep ending up taking the skirt back off and putting it away, take that skirt shopping with you and try tops on with it. Or wear it to try boots or shoes with. You get my drift.

For what it's worth here is the advice that House of Colour give you. They reckon you should wear three colours from your palette - usually two main colours and a 'splash' of a third. Basically all of the colours in your season co-ordinate and you can wear any three (or more) together. 'Tis magic. Putting your garments together is relatively easy as once you know the proportions for your body and your style personality everything goes together.

That's interesting stuff, thankyou both. I'm good with colour as I had Colour me beautiful done. It's just I don't think about the bigger picture of the overall look when I'm choosing my clothes to wear for that day. E.g. biker, boho,....um....er....see? I can't even think of anymore looks lol!

House of colour have the following personality types - Romantic, Classic, Gamine, Ingenue, Daramatic & Natural. So it is more of a type than a style as such. You can get info on the web which will help you decide what you are - depends a bit on whether you are curvy, angular, tall, short, rounded etc and partly on other things e.g are you neat & tidy or more 'free spirit'. Most people are 2 types combined and some are 3. For example I'm a Gamine Ingenue and my DH is a Classic Romantic! The analysus even goes as far as whether you have shoes with pointed toes or square/rounded ones. You come away thinking....'So that's why I don't like (insert own particular hate).....'
It's interesting if you are attracted to psychology...

Thanks again, CMB also do the personality types and like all things where you need to fall into a category, it didn't work for me! I'm just too random and my choices don't go that deep!

I think just by highlighting this for myself the other day, it's made me think more now. I was looking through an email earlier (online clothing) and they were advertising 70's style summer dresses and before it got to the shoes I thought, hmmm, now if I was going for a complete themed look, what shoes would I need to select....wedges? I was right!!
