Houlilikes and almost a hasbeen . . .

2 good purchases from Next Shock

So these are nice material, flattering and a lot lot cheaper than houlihans. Obviously its next so they come up big but am pleased with them.

And these fake hasbeens are lovely - wasn't sure about the scalloped edge but they look fine and lovely colour.

So go on - tell me how awful they are and how deluded I am Wink

Ooh tracey I love the cargos and the clogs and the stripey sweater as well. May just have to order the whole lot; still less than 1 leg of a houlihan though! Grin

How is the sizing on the clogs? Am an annoying 6.5 so never know whether to go for 6s or 7s

tulpe · 28/02/2011 17:53

Lovely trousers and shoes. Agree re scalloped edges though. Would need to try them on.

BTW, Tracey, I ended up back in H&M today stocking up on a couple more of their Bretons :). A white and navy to replace last years slightly worn out model (!) and a camel with thin black stripe to wear with black skinnies and LP scarf.

Emo76 · 28/02/2011 19:12

Tracey how does the length come up on the cargos - I am slightly stumped that they come in longer lengths - I am tall but don't want to lose the effect of them being 7/8 length. They look like a bargain!

traceybath · 28/02/2011 19:17

Well I'm a munchkin at only 5ft and they're below my ankle bone so I'd turn them up a couple of times to hit just above my ankle - they're longer than houlihans I think and also not so incredibly low-waisted.

The clogs are true to size I think - the scalloped edge is less noticeable when on and I do like the fact they're navy.

I love my hasbeens but don't want to spend another £££ on a pair and the other makes like Lotta are too low for me.

Tulpe - oooh black and camel sounds nice!

I bought the trousers too, am your height but probably double your width(!), am pleased with them, despite them looking terrible in the photo - like a nappy, very low crotch.

catinthehat2 · 28/02/2011 19:33

Well you've sold a pair of the sandals, have been looking for something like this since last year. Don't know what came over me Shock

traceybath · 28/02/2011 19:40

I know and its next and we all hate next Wink

no I meant I'm a tightfisted git normally Grin

VerityBrulee · 28/02/2011 20:48

Top marks for finding the Hasbeenies Tracey , I had to send the Lottas back as too short and stumpy, but they look just right.

I found houli-likes todays, in Oasis reduced and in 4 colours.

traceybath · 28/02/2011 20:49

Oh they're nice VB!

I'm not crazy about my thighs so can't see myself paying for real Houlis, but I'd give those a whirl. I want the olive and there were lots on the rails today. Might have to leave college early tomorrow for some emergency shopping.

RipMacWinkle · 28/02/2011 20:55

I do like those trousers Tracey.

I know we're the same height but I have incredibly stumpy hobbit short legs. Would these just be a crazy idea? I find Next petite jeans/trouser too long without a decent heel.

traceybath · 28/02/2011 21:06

Well I'd only ever wear with a heel and they do look nice.

Give them a go Smile

Verity I bought the Oasis houlihan-likes in Olive & Navy from Oasis on Saturday and really happy with them (£15 each is a bargain). They look fab with a pair of high navy slight platform heels (wooden base)

Love those clogs Tracey. I bought the Lotta clogs but tried them on yesterday with a few new items and also find them far too chunky. Stupidly ditched the box though, maybe I can eBay.

RipMacWinkle · 28/02/2011 21:13

Yes! Would defo need a heel but I'm worried I'd have to turn them up about half a dozen times. At that price though, they have to be worth a shot?

planestrainsautomobiles · 28/02/2011 21:22

If you're going to roll them up why not just cut off a section at the bottom?

traceybath · 28/02/2011 21:23

2 small rolls Rip and they're just above my ankle and perfect for spring with the clogs.

RipMacWinkle · 28/02/2011 22:01

I think you've sold them to me Tracey Grin

Fab. Thanks.

And yes planes I could but I'm a bit funny about tampering with things. Cutting, amending. It's a weird think because when you're petite, you probably should just do it.

GeorginaWorsley · 28/02/2011 22:19

Nice Tracey, however I cannot do thigh pockets unfortunately!
Have seen some navy cropped chino type things in Sainsbury's for £15 or so.May try those.
