SPF Day Moisturiser - which one?

Any ideas on a good one?

Love my REN night cream, also have Kiehls day cream (with no SPF which is annoying) but need to buy a good SPF one for the day too. For many years I did use Clarins so I could buy that but thinking about a change.

Would REN be good? Or Dermalogica or something cheaper?

I like Nivea RIch Moisturising, but a) I have dry skin and b) it's only about 8spf. That doesn't bother me because my foundation/tm has 15-20 and I quite often use Clinique city block 40spf as well. Actually, if you are happy with your day cream what about the Clinique City block? It comes with 25spf as well.

I use and love Body Shop's Vitamin C SPF day moisturiser - it's SPF 15 or 20 I think.

I use Clinique City Block on top of their Super Defence moisturiser- bot h SPG 25.

You won't really get much protection with a moisturiser alone- the SPF is diluted within the product- and remember that if you sunbathe you should apply it every 2 hrs- so what you put on at 8am on your face is not going to last all day.

Thanks for the suggestions. A fair point about it wearing off.

Will have a look at those suggestions - City Block sounds good but then only thinking that I would need ordinary moisturiser, City Block and foundation? Seems like a lot of product...

Any other ideas?

I like olay I use protect and nourish with SPF day cream. Best moisturiser I've used in ages.
I also really like Estee Lauder Multi Protection day cream that has SPF too and anti polluntant etc.

Laura Mercier's tinted moisturiser is SPF 20 which I think is excellent. Good coverage and long lasting too.

IIRC Dermalogica moisturisers don't include a SPF. (would go and check but that means running upstairs :o )

Right, I will look at these and attempt to come to a conclusion.

I do have Laura Mercier's tinted moisturiser which I've used a lot in the past but in more recent times everybody asks me if I'm ill when I wear it. Perhaps it's a colour problem.

I like applying layers Smile moisturiser, city block, foundation....

TattyDevine · 28/02/2011 22:55

I would try and find a primer that has block in it and that cancels out the need for a day moisturiser. Then it deals with your sunscreen thing and you are not layering on too much stuff beneath your makeup.

Mac primer has SPF 50 I think, and the Laura Mercier primers have SPF and other skin benefits that negate the need for a day cream, as such.

Go and get a sample from the makeup counters and decide on one you like.

Then, if you use a tinted moisturiser or foundation you can get one with SPF to boost your SPF if necessary, but only as an extra, as you've already done it...

Estee Lauder daywear plus - it just rocks and I saw a review on it shen I lived in Australia and they tested the SPF of that and a few others a d it came out top, a little goes long way so it lasts for ages so worth the price .

There's an Aveeno one with SPF 30 which is really nice, and a Garnier one in a green pump bottle with SPF28, also nice.
