Where can I get jeans to fit me? I'm struggling, please help!

I can never find jeans that fit properly so I never wear them, but I'd really like a few nice pairs. I'm 5'1" and size 8, and I find they are either way too long, fit on the legs but are massive round the waistband or fit round the waistband but are too tight on the thighs. I've tried petite styles but find them either too tight or, believe it or not, too short.

I'd like a couple of dark blue bootleg pairs, one long enough to wear with heels and the other a bit shorter to wear with flats. I'd also like a straight or skinny pair to wear under long length tops.

Any idea where I can get jeans that would suit my size? Is there a certain shop or brand that might cater for a short arse like me? I'm on a tight budget so ideally don't want to pay more than around £40 per pair.

If you live near London try Uniqlo- they are all long- 33 - but they machine hem in the shop while you wait.

I find H&M good - they have different leg lengths and waist sizes too, and I believe the jeans cost £39 max. HTH

My Gap 'Always skinny' are amazing and look better than my more expensive ones - and I never thought I could wear skinny so might be worth trying.

I'm nothing like your size and shape. But the best fitting jeans I got recently were from Sainsburys - might be worth a try.

I am 5ft and a size 8 - 10. Agree that jeans buying is a bit of a nighmare at our size. I have recently bought a pair of 'ultimate flare' jeans from Next petite. They are skinny flare type and super flattering with heels. They also do them in 'ultimate bootcut' in petite. Definitely worth a try.

I'm same height and size as you...I've also bought jeans from Uniqlo and as Cabbage mentioned they tailor for free if jeans are £19.99 or over. I think I paid £20 for some black straight skinnies a few weeks back.

Gap have short length, 30inch, which should be right for you, I guess some of the petite ranges are more like 28 / 29 inches which aren't great for heels. I've got different cuts from GAP and they have a 25% offer on denim atm so will all be under £40, plus you can sign up for free emails and get an extra 15% off.

I've also got a couple of pairs of skinny jeans from Johnnie B (teenage boden range), size 28R fit well.

And don't forget TopShop - they do lots in petite and normally around the £40 mark too.

Thanks, I'm in Yorkshire so not near Uniglo but will check out Next, Top Shop, H&M and Gap next time I can go shopping without DS in tow!

softkitty, I'm 5'1 and wear size 8 jeans, I really like River Island jeans, their short length fits me fine even with heels (sexy bootleg style and skinny)
Also baxter's in a length 32" as although I'm short I feel the 30" a bit too short - I like a bit of extra ankle coverage.

Worth also giving the £8 primark skinnies a go.
miss selfridge also do a shorter length

Have you tried the Levis curve jeans? There are 3 different curves - demi, semi and one other, can't remember the name.

Have a look on their website and if you input your measurements, the will tell you the right fit for you.

I love mine!
