If you don't have the figure for skinnies what style of jeans do you wear?

My thighs do not look good in skinnies!

But it seems to be the only style in fashion - what do you wear instead?

I live in jeans when not at work and am fed up of looking like a frump!

I am also not a fan of the skinnies.

But i am loving boyfriend and carpenter jeans.

Though my recommendation doesn't mean they are trendy, just that i wear them

Just ordinary bootcut.
Basically what I can find that fits... huge hips small waist
Problem is shoes to go with said jeans

rookiemater · 27/02/2011 11:58

I really liked the Boden going out style jeans, they were a bit like bootcut but not as flared at the bottom, but they don't make them anymore and the Bootcut ones looked rubbish on me ( sorry I know that is no help but wanted to mourn their loss)

Do you have to wear jeans all the time ? You could ring the changes with these www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Trousers-Jeans/Trousers/WM300/Womens-Flared-Chinos.html?NavGroupID=19 bought these in blue with 15% discount and very happy with them , although weirdly when ordered in black and beige sizing appears to be different, either that or I have put on 2 inches on my waist in the course of a week.

Bronze see my other thread I am having the same problem.

I am wearing straight cut atm, they are not looking too good on me - may try bootcut but don't want too flared.

Going to check out the boden link!

Wear whatever suits your figure rather than following fashion. That's what the French women do and we look at them and wonder why they look so classically stylish - it's because they don't slavishly follow the crowd.

Nothing suits my post pregnancy size 18 flabby tummy figure Sad

oh good thread, off to read
I tend to wear wellies, muck boots or walking boots but it would be nice to look tidy once in a while

TerrorFirmer · 27/02/2011 12:27

Some people just don't suit jeans - I am coming to the conclusion that I don't (hourglass-ish size 16)

Even Gap Curvy (supposedly designed for the likes of me) look horrendous.

I have a couple of pairs of peg-leg trousers a bit like these warehouse ones and they are surprisingly flattering.

flares - don't wear old stylee bootcut they just look frumpy

Longtalljosie · 27/02/2011 12:57

Bootcut or kick-flare. People can over-think jeans. It's what you wear with them that people notice more.

barbieisaskinnybitch · 27/02/2011 13:24

I'm in agreement with lost

I wear kick-flare (a fancier name for bootcut IME) as they even out my norks & I think they look good, no matter what the trendy-Wendy's say Grin

ijudge · 27/02/2011 16:22

What shops sell kick flare?

OP posts:
suiledonne · 27/02/2011 16:26

I am short and a size 16. I always wear bootcut - I don't think they are frumpy. Wearing something that fits well and suits you has to be better than following every trend and looking silly IMO.

I have worn kick flares but they can be quite narrow on the thigh.
