What are you wearing/did you wear as work shoes when pregnant?

Have had to reluctantly give up my heels, they weren't massive, but still mourning them! Have sneaked in in converse for past few days but can't get away with that long term! Has anyone discovered flat and comfy yet attractive work shoes? I mainly wear suit-ish trousers and a top. Have been wearing fly boots with skirts and dresses, again think it is being frowned upon!

What's your budget?

I've bought some lovely Tod's and Jimmy Choo flats on eBay. A lot of folks on eBay just go for heels, so flats can be a lot cheaper than you'd think. You can always have them resolved if they need them.

But you have to be confident you're buying genuine ones.

cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tods-Ladies-shoes-/270711257136?pt=Women_s_Shoes&hash=item3f07a5f830 - these would be a bargain at £40 and smart but very comfy! If you are a size 5, of course.

resolved = resoled

I wore patent loafers, though this was a comfort not a style thing. I could slip them on and off standing up! This got increasingly useful as pregnancy progressed...

It's a couple of years ago now but I had a pair of knee-length Hush Puppy wedge boots for work. They were good with trousers and skirts and I lived in them. By the time DS arrived I hated the sight of them though!

Pg over summer so wore flip flops. Completely inappropriate but they were only thing I could get on.

My colleague was pg in winter and she wore flip flops as it was the only thing that would fit.

Flat ballerinas from topshop and next

I've also just reluctantly given up my heels and have been wearing ballet style flats with skirts and cropped trousers and flat brogues with suit style trousers. M&S has some nice flats in at the mo.

Caz10 · 24/02/2011 22:21

Oh m&s haven't looked there yet! I guess comfort just has to be the thing, but it is fairly depressing!

Like KenDoods, flat ballet pumps and then Birkenstocks when the weather got warmer.
