of £50 max!

Call it the pregnant brain, call it an almost 30 life crisis call it whatever but I have just re-organised the bathroom cabinet and am a bit {blush] about my make up collection.

i can't remember what i last bought, or when. some of it dates back to when i got married (nearly 4 years ago) and bought lovely clinique stuff. (which never got used up but can't be chucked as it was so £!) some of it is older! Blush

i don't usually wear any and if i'm going out/ feel the need then its usually loose powder/ tinted moisturiser, mascara, eyeliner and cream eye shadow.

so i want to overhaul my collection and start again. BUT with dc2 on the way money is tight hence the budget.

i have reasonably ok skin - i focus on making sure it looks good nude IYSWIM. however it is definitely combination and i get occasional red bumpy spots which seem to react badly to make up. My skin is fair, hair is medium-dark brown, eyes are green and my best feature i think as my eyelashes are quite thick and long. :) Oh and my hair is short - too short to tie back in any way.

what can you suggest as i don't really have the £ to make mistakes or have expensive experiments.

please help before i get be-fuddled in boots! Confused

Buy online it's much cheaper, I get most things from cheap smells but there are other options out there.
If you spent £20 each on foundation and/or touché éclat or mascara you'd still have a tenner to buy cheap shadows

I think if you are tempted to spend a lot on foundation always ask for a sample first. Most of the high end brands will give you a mini pot that will last 3 -5 days. I say this because I have bought 3 different Chanel foundations and given all 3 bottles away. They were hopeless on me, didnt last til 11am : ( I really rate Estee Lauder foundations but would never suggest you spend all that without giving it a try first. Next time you are in a dept store ask at a few counters.

Just wanted to say thanks! I tried out some new purchases today and was quite pleased.

Bourjois 10h sleep effect foundation - good match to my skin tone, didn't get shiny even tho I didn't use powder on top and stayed all day.
Max factor masterpiece- applied nicely with no clumping. Did flake a little teeny bit but that might had been due to eye cream on lashes? Will try without eye cream tomorrow.
Bourjois eye shadow and liner- nice when applied but not sure how much staying power they have.

I still want the l'oreal touché magique but thy didn't have the ifht shade in boots at weekend. Also need/ want blusher, more eye shadows/ cream and some lippy.

Cheers for all the help! Grin
