Best false eyelashes

Hello,

I am a bit fake. Fake tan most of the time. Fake nails. I had the semi perm false eyelashes and they were good but I can't afford them.

Anyway false eyelashes are something that I've never been able to get right.

Any suggestions for make/brand?
Any top tips for applying?

I don't think you can beat Eyelure IMO. They're cheap and they go on really easily. I always use them when I go out and I've never had any problems with them staying put.

I rarely use false eyelashes, but do have a few packets of Eyelure hanging about.
When I put glue on, I use a kirby grip to put it on the eyelashes, so that it doesn't go everywhere.

MAC do fab ones.

The girls aloud ones at boots are good.

To apply them put a mirror flat on your dressing table lean over the mirror with your elbow resting in the table, look odwn and apply. Easy Peasy

the ones that come in little clumps of 3 individual lashes, theyre easy to put on and they look awesome. i cant do the whole lash ones, they always look wonky

Ah, but you don't have to buy the ones that come in clumps.
Just buy some Eyelure and cut them into whatever length you want.

I rarely wear false lashes whole.

Sticking a few on the outer edge of the eye lid can work wonders though.

I use www.eyebeauty.co.uk - they have an amazing range of styles, great prices and some of the lashes on there are the same as some of the MAC and Shu Uemura ones (except the Shu Uemura ones have really thick straight bands which don't work very well on rounder shaped eyes as they are made for a japanese market)

Actually, meant to say, as well as MAC & Shu Uemura they do styles which are practically the same as the Eyelure lashes too but for about 2/3 of the price.

I recommend getting a tube of Duo surgical glue if you want to wear lashes regularly. It's a lot better than the little bottle of glue you get with some of the lashes - a lot of the boxes come without glue.

I love the Girls Aloud range from boots, I've found them very easy to apply and they stay in place. I've had loads of compliments when wearing them.

I too like the Girls Aloud ones from Boots - I use the Kimberly ones.

I have also washed them after wearing them to get rid of excess mascara and they still look good.

Illamasqua lashes are amazing.

Bellavita, try putting your lashes on after you've done your mascara, then you won't have to wash them

I use Eyelure no 100 and cut them in half, then just apply them to the outside of my eyes, also use them on my brides (do wedding make up) easy peasy and if you're careful can be re used. Use the duo glue too (from MAC)

I do the same with Eyelure 116 on brides (same as you lipgloss and lashes ). The outer half if the client has long lashes or the inner half on the outside of the eye if her lashes are shorter, so they blend with the natural lashes.

Ooh never tried the 116's will look out for them,thank you havingkittens! Do you ever use the individual lashes? The ones that last a couple of days? Supposedly the duo glue can be used for them but I've never got on with them.

No, I have no patience for them. Too fiddly and they don't always go on at the right angle. I think a section of a strip lash works better and also, what with the emotions running high at weddings I always fear that with the individual lashes there is always a risk of one popping off and leaving an ugly gap which won't happen with the strips. Sometimes I just cut a length of 4-5 lashes, sometimes half and sometimes 2/3 depending on the look. The 116 lashes work well for a more retro hollywood glamour look as they get longer towards the outer lashes.

Wonderful! thanks again havingkittens totally agree about the individual lashes! You can see why I like the Eyelure 100's as they're almost even at either edge, but I will definitely go for the 116's.
