Mulberry factory outlet?

The Shepton Mallet site? Is it worth a detour? I lust after a Bayswater but my purse is still a bit blah post xmas; whilst I understand they may have variable stock, what do you think my chances might be of finding my hearts' desire (ie a east west bayswater in chocolate)

I've never been to the Shepton Mallet outlet but did pick up a lovely Bayswater in the Cheshire Mulberry outlet, it's worth phoning them first to see if they have any in and iirc they can keep to one side for you, number here

netbook · 21/02/2011 20:53

You could give them a call and see if they have one in stock. I think they will hold it for you. It's worth a browse, you may fall in love with something else!

salvadory · 21/02/2011 20:54

oops sorry link here

Jellibob · 21/02/2011 22:35

I've been to the Shepton Mallet factory shop, it's lovely, beautiful old building (converted school?), plenty of parking, cafe.

I'd ring before you go though, as I'd imagine the stock varies.

They have a fairly large clothing section too. Got a lovely work jacket about 3 years aago for £39, rrp £390.

madammecholet · 22/02/2011 09:48

I stop by shepton mallet when I can, but I never find anything. It seems to be all the stuff that doesn't sell...hence 'outlet' I suppose.

I was also disappointed at how many of their bags are unlined esp for the money?

Definetly call ahead and ask what colours Bayswater they have in stock before you go...

bleakofheart · 22/02/2011 10:35

thanks all will give them a call

I think if you call & they have what you are looking for, they will post it to you. That's what my friend did.

I'd love a Bayswater...

barbieisaskinnybitch · 22/02/2011 11:58

I know its forbidden to mention £ but how much would an outlet bayswater be?

CloversMama · 22/02/2011 12:56

Definitely give them a call and if they have something you want, they will hold it for you.

I bought a Bayswater from there about 6 months ago -I phoned them, asked what was in stock and then they posted it out to me.

Mine was a Ombre (RRP £650 I think), and iirc, I paid about £425-450?

HTH

They sometimes have a 'damaged' rail (for that read no perceptible damage at all, or a slight stitching fault has been repaired by the factory.)

I got a black Bayswater for £190 and a pink Mabel for similar price a year or so back.

It is a lovely shop, and lots of bargains on clothes as someone has already mentioned. I'd say it's definitely worth a detour. :)

MrsSeanBean · 22/02/2011 13:12

My black Bayswater and pink Mabel were both 'damaged' btw - but Bayswater was perfect and Mabel had one scratch...

Ooh, I have been to the york outlet today, expecting it to be full of very colourful seconds. I was so excited to discover a chocolate bayswater for approx £450 and an east west chocolate mock croc for £385. I have a birthday coming up so I snapped up the east west. It is not a second. The assistant said they get seconds, last seasons styles and some which are made for the outlets in different leathers. They had quite a lot of black, chocolate and oak classic bags.

The chocolate bayswater had a couple of very faint thin grazes near the buckle, but nothing you wouldn't do yourself very easily and for 1/3 off it was fantastic. I just decided the east west was a better size for me. I am bwside myself with excitement.

mrsrhodgilbert · 22/02/2011 15:53

beside myself even. Its the other me that cannot tye.

mrsrhodgilbert · 22/02/2011 15:54

MrsMc82 · 22/02/2011 19:32

I love the york outlet too as were only in Harroge its not far away at all....

There's a website called the purse forum that ave a whole board dedicated to mulberry and if you ask on there someone will probably be able to tell you a v recent update of what's in the Shepton Mallet outlet.....

MrsMc82 · 22/02/2011 19:34

Urgh can't type properly on new touchscreen phone!!!

mulberryfan · 26/06/2011 21:31

In which outlet can I get Daria Medium Hobo in black??Thanks in advance :)

GeneralissimoVonBobbington · 26/06/2011 21:37

Shelton Mallett is brilliant, and as others have said, they will hold stuff for you. Standard discount is one third off (or at least off leather goods) so think those that have paid less must have been in an additional sale.

As for not being lined, I was shrouded too, but it's often the lining that gets wrecked with ink, makeup or general crud and it's difficult to clean, so I've come round to the no lining approach.

mulberryfan · 29/06/2011 10:21

Thank you very much.
