Did nothing for me!

Rescue Remedy works as a quick pick-me-up. That's because it contains brandy.

You can buy quite a lot of brandy for the same price as Rescue Remedy, you just don't get the silly hocus-pocus that goes with it.

My Granny and Aunt are both homeopaths but im very sceptical about it, rescue remedy is one of the few alternative medicine i think works. Having said this its generally used for shock and so could be a reassuring placebo, worth a try though.

nope

polyhymnia · 21/02/2011 11:45

Does absolutely nothing for me, except repel me because I dislike the taste of brandy. I think it is rubbish, but I suppose if people really 'believe' in it (however irrationally, in my view) there might be some sort of placebo effect.

We have a spray of the rescue remedy sleep stuff, tbh it's done nothing for me.
But when DD2 says 'I can't sleep' then she has a bit and is off like a light.

Loads of my family DH included have always used it and we all think it works. Used for exams, pre-childbirth panic and I recently used it before trip to dentist, I'm getting over dental phobia. I don't think it's just the brandy as you only have 2 squirts. DH uses it as he has a very stressful job and got a new pot for a particularly stressful meeting.

fizzyliftinggas · 21/02/2011 14:23

I thinks it's good, the latest thing it helped with was my DH's Grandads funeral, as I have a habit of saying really inappropriate things when I am nervous, took away the nerves and hey presto, no hideous jokes! Blush

aLegonEachCorner · 21/02/2011 14:45

It didn't do a thing for me but then, my stress levels were through the roof (son's autism diagnosis/husband left/lost job/parent died within 12 month period) so I needed something a little more hardcore.

I imagine it's one of those "if you think it's effective, it is!" potions.....apart from the miniscule amount of alcohol within!

NorthernComfort · 21/02/2011 14:46

I had some after a car crash once, it seemed to help a bit...

starfishmummy · 21/02/2011 14:50

I've used it - in water. It makes the water taste a bit nicer (not a fan of plain water) and It is probably the drinking the water that is the bit that works!

Tried the sleep one and it is horrible!
