Sorry, but it's a maternity clothes style and beauty

I hate maternity trousers with the low slung bump band (or side elastic, they're just as bad). When I had DS you could get plenty of trousers with a high bump band which pulled right up to under your boobs, and it was much more comfy.

Not one pair of trousers in Next maternity has a high bump band.

Does anyone know where I can get some? Desperate.

No, but there was a thread recently on "Pregnancy" where people were bemoaning the same thing and saying that pregnancy jeans always fall down, especially the under-bump ones.

Seems to be something that's changed in the past couple of years.

I hate under-bump trousers.

One person suggested buying bump bands and sewing them on to under-bump trousers.

Have you looked on eBay? I had a quick look and lots of people are selling bundles of maternity clothes.

Bless you for answering my not interesting query.

No, I haven't tried ebay yet but I will. I remember that last pregnancy I bought the sort I want now from Blooming Marvellous, and I think they've gone under. I have found these so I am going to order.

I may also try the sewing on band technique, the one pair of trousers I have is useless in its current state so I can hardly ruin them.

i've since lots of over bump ones? in next and other places? have you tried jojo? quite similar to blooming marvellous.

i personally have the opposite problem as i like the under bump styles they fit me better.

Georgimama · 20/02/2011 18:11

Yes jojo seem to have lots of over bump styles, I am going to order some.

I haven't looked at Next online but all the ones in store today were under bump so if you like them you're in clover. They do seem to be the most common style now.

H&M did when i was pregnant. Second JoJo and also mamas and papas - they have an over the bump section!

The best ones I got were from La Redoute, about a year ago though. Really comfy grey skinny jeans with over bump bit. I wore them nearly every day!

Georgimama · 20/02/2011 18:53

I need officey type clothes unfortunately.

George at Asda have some black jeans with an over the bump elastic - really comfy - and not too jeansy for work. They also have over the bump normal jeans, and a nice over the bump pencil skirt which (even with my vastly enhanced thighs and buttocks) looks neat for work with a H&M vest plus cardigan. Unfortunately, H&M trousers seem to be sized for stick insects - but if you have lovely skinny thighs Envy they have some black work type trousers.

I bought a pair for SIL from South, they have a (huge) over bump elastic.
South at Littlewoods, that is.

I bought some Isabella Oliver ones which were fabulous...

Have you tried Gap? There were quite a few pairs of over the bump mat jeans and work trousers in my local branch.

Georgimama · 21/02/2011 19:13

Not keen on the Seraphine ones tbh but I LOVE this dress so thank you for the tip!

H&M do quite a lot of over the bump stuff. I bought a black work skirt there for £10 with DC1 and got away with wearing it pretty much every day with a non maternity jacket.

Although their work stuff is a bit hit and miss.
