Am I right in thinking leather boots are the best ones and will last?

I bought some £20 boots from New Look as I didn't want to spend a lot as I thought I wouldn't wear them. They are very tatty now so I want some decent boots that will last. I looked yesterday and a lot of shops have their summer sandals in so there wasn't a lot of choice. I found some lovely ones in Jones the bootmakers in my size - the only shop to have any - but they were a bit pointed and I thought my toes would start to hurt. I am off to Bluewater today and would appreciate advice as I have no idea about fashion.

I'm going soon, surely someone can save me from another waste of money!!!

I got some recently from yoox - think they still have some good bargains left.

I found some in French Connection but not designed for fat wide feet. I tried 2 pairs on in Dune but the zip was tempremental and for that much money I wanted a zip that worked the first time. They had some gorgeous thigh high boots that I really wanted and DH was about but too expensive for only wearing in the house .

I finally tried Clarks out of desperation and got some in there. Leather, completely flat, black, wider fit with fake fur inside for added comfort.

I am officially old .

I like Clarks boots. They have upped their game recently and have some very pretty designs alongside their frump-basic range. As a plus they are always comfortable

They were so lovely to put on after the ones in FC which were designed for those with narrower feet.
