Help with Jewellery please

I have decided that i need some jewellery for Christmas and my birthday - i get one decent present rather than 2 little ones. I don't have a matching set of bracelet and necklace and often i feel i look "unfinished" when i'm dressed up to go out because my jewellery doesn't match. So, i'm hunting for a "go with everything" set, eg modern, yellow gold,( would love platinum, but not enough budget), maybe freshwater pearls, maybe small diamonds. I'm a size 20, so nothing too delicate. Max budget £300. I don't want Elizabeth Duke from Argos, nor can we stretch to Bond street. Any suggestions in between?

Yep, you'd be hard pressed to buy the materials to make something with platinum at that price. Similarly, high quality diamonds will set you back a fair bit. Yellow gold is a good substitute, but my advice would be if you want platinum, invest in having a set designed and one piece made, then you can add to the set later and end up with a beautiful set that you really love, rather than one that's a close second. Freshwater pearls are always a good bet, if you can make sure that they'll be matched in colour, shape and size and will be flawless, which you're unlikely to be able to do on the high street. Otherwise, they tend to look uneven and even a bit tacky.

I'm a jewellery designer and I do a lot of work in platinum, gold and freshwater pearl. If you'd like to go down the road of commissioning something unique I'd be happy to go through some design ideas with you and offer you a discount on a commission so you can get something that's truly perfect without paying through the nose for it.
