ok so i am sat here now looking at a pair of blsck gloss HUNTERS and a pair of derwent MUCKBOOTS

The hunters look fabulous, but i am afraid of cold feet, the muckboots are warm and comfy but look hideous (ssoooo big).

I want 1 pair of rain, mud, camping, snow boots. That will keep me warm and dry and will last me.

Which do I sell on? Or is there a better solution.

I want the hunters to be as warm as the muckboots ideally lol

Chameau do heated wellies which have a neoprene lining. They are very expensive but will last for years.

I have always worn two thin pairs of socks (or a thin and a medium pair) with my hunters and been fine. Even stomping round the stables at 6am in below zero weather.

THINK I MAY SEND THEM BOTH (oops!) back and start again. It is so frustrating as i dont know anywhere i can go and try and buy. Buying online prooved v ££ as you have to pay post both ways even if they don't fit/you don't like them! wish the muckboots weren't so huge. Feel like a big man's workboots on my feet. not attractive.

I've always found my hunters really really toasty even walking miles with the dogs in the snow we had for the last 2 winters they've been fab, I swear by them! they do a neoprene lined version too I think which again in £££ I think but they may be even warmer but mine have been the classics....

Think have linked to www.discountwellies.co.uk/before but they are fab, give quite a saving from the rrp and are lovely on the phone if u have queries.....

If you buy the boots 1 size too big, you can wear woolen tights (Falkes or similar) plus thick woolen socks. Also slip in lambswool insoles. I've worn my short Ilse Jacobsens this way all winter long and we have -15 ... -20 C all the time. Never been cold. The thing is, there will be pockets of warm air inside - and because your feet will not get wet you will stay warmer. The Ilses have a cotton fleecy inside that in itself is already really warm.

I have a pair of Lowthers they look really like Hunters and were £15 on Amazon! - I have worn them all year (if i could get away with it Id wear them to work!) they are very comfortable. During the very cold weather -14 in NI - I just needed to wear two pairs of socks in them and found them toasty warm - Ive used them for going on long walks with the dog - plus I get loads of complements about them

Aigle outlast - fab wellies. Warm in winter and apparantly cool in summer.

Best thing about them though is they walk like hiking boots and not like wellies. Really good grip on feet!
