Advice needed - dress and tights

Am thinking of buying this dress for a friend's birthday meal out.

Question is - could I wear this with black, opaque tights? Don't like showing my legs!

Opaque tights and shoes the same colour as the dress might be alright

I have a bit of an aversion to black with bright blue ... [sorry] It's extremely short on the model, isn't it? I am a bit of an old gimmer so would prob wear with leggings AND knee boots. Would be desperately trying to make it work with dark brown ...

I think it would go better with opaque grey. Black is maybe a bit harsh for such a pretty, bright colour.

It is short - don't mind that just don't really want bare legs.

I thought black tights with shoes might look OK too but might just have to try it on.

Me and my sil each have a similar dress to this and they are both VERY short, it does seem to be the style. If you must wear tights I would go with navy ones.

I have bought dresses like this before from Oasis that look really short on the model but on a mere mortal who's only 5 foot 4 it is the perfect length (for me just on or slightly above the knee).
