Need a cheapy no-smudge dark eyeshadow

Any suggestions please?

Popping into town to get a new top for a girls night out tomorrow and I'd like to get a grey-ish eyeshadow, but I've only got £80 and I'd like to spend most of that on the top rather than the eyeshadow!

What are the best budget brand eyeshadows which stay on?

Bourjois excellent. I also really like the L'oreal platinum eyeshadows, quite metallicy,IYSWIM. Great for a night out. Have fun

I like Rimmel.

Invest in an eye primer for your lids then you can buy super cheap and it stays on

berri · 18/02/2011 13:02

Any particular brand you recommend cyb?

BTW I have the L'oreal skin primer (studio secrets smoother or something) - could I just use that instead or are the eye ones different?

I suppose you could use a skin primer- I bought Clinique one specifically for eyelids as I didnt want a whole face one and its good

berri · 18/02/2011 13:19

Will maybe ask the clinique ladies, thanks.

Urban Decay primer for eyes is amazing if you're after one, BUT for a cheap stay put eyeshadow, I swear by Aldi! Seriously, I have the silver/dark grey duo, it cost about £1.79 ish and it's amazing :)

MrsMeow · 18/02/2011 13:28

Too many amazings sorry Blush I'm in a good mood, can't help it!

lipglossandlashes · 18/02/2011 13:40

Don't know if it's still available but I got Urban Decay Naked at Christmas (present to myself!) was recommended on here and I love it,don't usually like palettes but have used all the colours in it and they last and last till I remove it. A few dark colours in it I usually have a smoky eye look and I thoroughly recommend it! Still use the MAC singles though and I like Smut (dark smoky grey) Sketch (rich plum) and Twinks (more of a sparkly rich plum) I've got hazel eyes, use a primer and usually hold a tissue underneath while I'm applying dark shadows to stop any fallout on my cheeks. Going to try the Aldi make up too!

berri · 18/02/2011 14:47

Boo, no Aldi here.
Currently browsing Rimmel & Bourjois.

No bloody luck finding a top though :(

ELF do a great primer for £1.50 linky I always had problems getting eyeshadow to last without creasing, and this fixed them Smile

berri · 18/02/2011 16:09

That looks like a bargain - is it only sold online?

I bought a lovely sparkly dark grey Bourjois one :)

i swear by Urban Decay ink for eyes on top of their primer.

BrainThrustMastery · 18/02/2011 16:47

berri Yes, I believe so

My new thing is the Bourjois stretch eyeshadows, they go on beautifully and are good colours - have the browns and just got the dark grey.
