I really want a good quality leather handbag...

I am not intrested in a 'high fashion' one, or one that's ££££ just because of the name - I just want a really good quality leather handbag that's pretty univrsal. I liked some Barbour ones, but they are last years and they don't have them anymore, but that sort of thing I like. Anyone recommend one, or somewhere to get one? Can you get any handmade ones anywhere? Thanks :)

Mulberry Bayswater in Oak,
beautiful and functional, a classic. I've got two Mulberries and I love them both, An Oak Alexa and a Black Hayden and saving for a Bayswater next. They're gorgeous bags, simply designed and don't scream a brand name. I still can't do links, but have a look on their website.

Lots of good bags at good prices in TK Maxx (but tat there also, so look carefully).

I do keep coming back to a bayswater but £664 Shock - are you paying for the name? Are they really common?

Well I can spot them ( and nasty fakes!) a mile off and I think you're paying for the design, quality and heritage. They do seem to have increased in price recently. I hope they're not common as they don't have branding all over. The fashion stuff that comes out every year is a bit more "trendy" I suppose but I would invest in one classic bag. I used to buy a couple of middle price range bags every year and get bored of them and I can honestly say I've never been bored with my Mulberries! (I'm a fickle one!)I know there is more to life than bags, but I love them! I spent a long time researching this subject as I am fickle!!
