Where are all the going-out-on-a-Friday-night-wearing-jeans tops ?

I'm early 40's & am after a couple of nice going out tops.

Something to wear with skinny jeans & a nice pair of shoes...

Something maybe made of silk or a drapey material, with some sort of sleeves...?

Size 8-10, have boobs, so would like something fitted, no smocks or maternity look styles.

Can anyone help ?

PS If this isn't what is worn on a Friday pub night, would you point me in the right direction please ?

i have a nice chiffoney (sp!) shirt from new look with little birdies on it. looks really quite nice but not too ott dressy

Don't worry lovingthesun, I am 40 and thats exactly what I wear going to the pub on a Friday night! I have seen the New Look shirt southeastastra and thinks its lovely. I have a birdie one from Dorothy Perkins.

Seriously I think its a great look, I am investing in lots of nice tops at the moment to wear with jeans, jeggings and heels when I go out. So will be marking my place with interest too!

I tried this on today. It is gorgeous and the pic doesnt do it justice. The only reason I didn't buy was that it made my boobs look too big (34HH) being a round neck. Was quite gutted!

I've got a couple of pairs of patent shoes with a manageable heel ( talking 2ish inches). One black, one red.

I wore black opaque pop socks with the black pair the other day because it was cold!

lovingthesun where are your patents from, if you don't mind me asking? I've been looking for a pair but could only see ones with huge heels?

Warehouse have some nice pussy bow blouses - got a couple with swallows on after seeing them on a thread here. Just checked above and see someone has linked it actually!

Ted Baker has a fab butterflies one, another one with dragonflies, pretty much as you are describing, if you are happy to spend more £.

That Warehouse swallows blouse looks like a building society cashier's uniform.
