Where to buy a nice evening/ball dress apart from monsoon and coast?

Need to buy a dress for a ball in May. Like the prom style knee length kinda dress. Looked through monsoon and coast but nothing floats my boat yet! Where else that doesn't cost a fortune?

I've always bought mine from a US company here I think they have some gorgeous frocks and always get complimented.
