Changed my mind about the dress for upcoming wedding and have bought this one

Freya Silk Georgette Kaftan Dress at £80.00

Any suggestion for shoes?

Debenham's seems to have a lot of fabric shoes in jewel tones this season. So does, oddly enough, Bhs.

twinsetandpearls · 15/10/2005 20:39

Could pop to Debenhams tomorrow, will check website.

Quite like these but not sure if they would match.

Maybe I should play safe and get brown shoes, an easier colour match.

OP posts:

They don't match if you ask me. Go for a satin, unembellished if you can.

NO BROWN!

twinsetandpearls · 15/10/2005 20:48

I don't want to do brown but I need to get them quick and I can't do a colour match!

Satin unembellished is a good idea.

lovely dress twinsetandpearls, I tried it on when I bought a dress to go to a wedding a few weeks ago, you'll look gorgeous!! I think trying to match the green/turquoise is going to be too hard, agree about brown satin. Might have a browse for you.....

FrenchSorciere · 15/10/2005 21:27

well remebered cod, mine was orange and silver, still love it

twinsetandpearls · 15/10/2005 21:29

Thanks I was going to get a different one, the Japura silk beaded dress, brown with jewels on it but as I have been scoffing late at night while revising my figure has expanded somewhat and this dress was more flattering.

I am taking a Louis Vuitton bag which is beautiful ( not a mongram in sight) which is brown so maybe I should do brown shoes. But I do love turquoise!

hello you do not know me but i like your dress. there are some nice wedges here in footwear which may match but i would wear boots (am scared of shoes though)

kid · 15/10/2005 21:46

I got a lovely pair of torquise wedge shoes with a brown strip across the front of them from TX Maxx. I had a couple of weddings and they looked really nice with my brown and green outfit. (Not very comfortable though!)

auntymandy · 15/10/2005 21:58

these?

auntymandy · 15/10/2005 22:00

not these!

twinsetandpearls · 15/10/2005 22:01

Thanks fishie, the wedges do look a nice colour and would be a comfortable option for all day wear but they have a strap across the ankle which is a no no for people with stumpy legs like myself!

twinsetandpearls · 15/10/2005 22:02

Auntymandy your first link takes me to grumpy old men.

oops that was for my mum!! the shoes were nice too..hang on!!

auntymandy · 15/10/2005 22:07

try this

fishie · 15/10/2005 22:09

well what about boots then? many lovely high-heeled ones in brown/tan - elegant, comfy, leg lengthening and no worries about ladders in tights. and you'd wear them again!
