Just seen her on Sky News in a monstrosity of an outfit!

Because she once got lots of appproving press for wearing leopard print kitten heels and she's still trying to look "fashion". It doesn't always work....

sfxmum · 16/02/2011 12:57

maybe because she likes what she wears, not the point really given the dubious politics

MarioandLuigi · 16/02/2011 13:20

But its hard to concentyrate on what she is saying when it looks like she is wearing a stained glass window.

stained glass window lookGrin going for the classics I guess

Just saw it too - suppose in a way you have to admire her for sticking to what she thinks looks good! Don't understand some of her choices myself - she is not sylph-like, but neither is she so large she can't choose her outfits from a wide range of shops. Jacket/coat looks to me like the sort of thing a German plus-size label might offer as being 'fun'. I'm definitely not anti-German, it's just that, having studied, and rejected, a lot of plus size ranges myself, I tend to think the German ones are particularly dire and frumpy.

As others have said, it's her policies which are the important thing - but those bizarre jackets do make me wonder a bit about her judgment.

KristinaM · 16/02/2011 14:09

Do you mean Teresa May the politician? Because if so, I dont care what she wears. It's not really part of her job is it?

RamblingRosa · 16/02/2011 15:22

Well said KristinaM.

Far more interested in hearing (and hating) what she's got to say.

BeenBeta · 16/02/2011 15:39

Just to keep the political balance.

Here is Harriet Harman in what some political commentators unfairly call her Giraffe Jacket.

Why do female politicians get their clothes critiqued and male politicians dont?

MarioandLuigi · 16/02/2011 15:43

Because male politicians all wear the same - I do always notice ties though.

i don't care what harriet harman, teresa may, david cameron or any politician wears tbh.
presumably being a woman gives everyone the right to have a pop though. and people wonder why there aren't more women in politics.

polyhymnia · 16/02/2011 15:47

Obviously what she's got to say is the key thing.

I do think that if a male politician appeared in something quite as 'unusual' as that jacket I might remark on it in passing too (harriet's giraffe thing is far more mainstream - looks like something she picked up in Hobbs). But of course it wouldn't affect my view of his policies any more than Teresa's get-up does my view of hers.

MarioandLuigi · 16/02/2011 21:34

Yes - what she has to say is very important (most of it is shite but ho hum).

But you cant wear an outfit like that and not attract attention to yourself. It was bizarre.
