Which shoes with this dress, for wedding?

I'm off to a wedding soon and have a dress to wear which is the same colour as this one but note is not the same dress before you tell me not to wear it to the wedding!

So I need shoes - I was thinking perhaps nude? Black would be too dark for an April wedding I thought? Plus nude bag?

Purple to match the dress.

Hmm hadn't thought about purple, thought it might look 'too much' especially if I get a purple bag too....

Also the purple is quite bright rather than a deep colour, I don't think I've ever seen shoes that colour to match....

Nude would work (although I'm not a big fan of nude stuff myself). How about grey/silver ?

Yes I think you're both right - grey/silver is definitely the way forward, for some reason I hadn't thought of that!

These type of ones were the nude type of thing I was originally thinking of - is the darker shade perhaps nicer?

I much prefer the Dune ones. I don't know why (and I am probably in the minority !), but I find the light nude shade a bit cheap looking.

No need to whisper - I was a bit worried about that myself, especially as my dress is quite bright. Think the grey will work well & I'll also be able to wear them again with more things probably.

Isn't gold + purple a bit more 'party' than 'wedding' though?

I ordered that Tibi dress as a possible for me to wear as guest to June wedding ....am interested to know why you thought it might be considered unsuitable?

As it happens, I didn't like it on but had I liked it, I was thinking of pairing with metallic shoes, either silver or gold. Clutch I was going to keep a look-out for something embellished/beaded either metallic to match shoes or multi-coloured/patterned with a smidge of purple in it.

I think gold goes better with purple too, but perhaps not for a wedding. I think nude too.

eshermum nothing against the dress but it'd come up v short on me so not suitable for me. Nice dress though, wish I had the legs for it - mine is a little longer.

yes, it was very short, I thought I might get away with it as am not very tall but it really was short
I don't know why everyone is so anti gold and silver at a wedding though, absolutely fine imo.
