Do Blowfish boots REALLY come up small?

I've been thinking of buying some Blowfish Holdem boots for a while as I need an alternative to pumps (impractical in this weather) with jeans that I can't fit boots under.

I've found some cheap ones here but I've seen so many references to them coming up small that I don't know whether to get a 7 or an 8, as a small 7 would definitely be too small.

I Googled and found a thread on here from before Christmas where someone said they hadn't found Blowfish boots small, but that was the only answer to the OP so I'd like to canvass a bit more opinion before I part with my £29 [cheapskate emoticon] if possible.

i hope so!, i have a pair on the way and ordered a size 5 (was all that was in stock at reduced price!) but i'm a 4. am hoping they do come up small.

i'd also like to know why they are so expensive at full price for shoes that aren't leather?

LadyWellian · 15/02/2011 23:51

Apparently they are 'vegetartian' leather which is obviously morally superior to plastic!

I?d go a size up. I?m a 5 in virtually everything, but a Blowfish 5 crushed my feet and even a 6 felt on the small side.

You probably don?t want to hear this, but I found mine pretty shoddy quality. I had two pairs of the ?Hamish? style, one in canvas and one in ?vegetarian leather?. The canvas pair just disintegrated and the other pair came away at the joins. The soles on both wore through within a couple of months (and I?m not generally heavy on my shoes.) Hopefully other styles are a bit more robust.

mine have just arrived, and yes, they are small. the size 5 is more like a 4/4.5.

lucykate · 16/02/2011 11:51

don't mind if mine are crap, only paid £20 for them.

Yes! I love my blowfish boots. I'm a size 3 (poss even a 2.5 really!) and, for the first time ever in my life, I had to buy a 4.

Comfy though. Got mine in TK Maxx and were well worth it

Have been wearing my size 7 blowfish boots today and all my other shoes/boots are a 6

glitterkitty · 16/02/2011 20:06

Completely agree with Divine. They come up very small. They leak and are crap quality. They look ok but TBH I wish I'd bought elsewhere.

Wont buy blowfish again... huffy princess diana face

Oh god... I just got them as far as my basket, thought I'd have a quick Google to see if they were cheaper anywhere, and while I only Googled 'Blowfish Holdem Boots' almost all the first page of hits were 'Blowfish Holdem Wide Fit Boots'.

My feet are very far from wide. In fact the main reason I am a size 7 is because of my long thin toes and my heels are particularly narrow. (My shoes often fall off when I am walking!)

Help!! I can live with their being plastic (as long as they are not like saunas) and not lasting forever - they are only £29, after all - but if they are going to flap around I can't be doing with them.

The ones I have are these when I was at school and getting measured for shoes at Clarks they told my mum I was a C width fitting and shoes don't come in that size. I still have very narrow feet. I do use an insole in them which was originally to keep my feet warmer as my circulation is awful and would probably make them feel big to take them out now but I have no problem with them feeling too big and will buy another pair at some point. The shoes were far too wide for me though. Office sell blowfish boots if you want to try a pair on before you buy.
